Electric Powered Styrofoam Plate Airplane

I am often asked to build a powered aeroplane and I wanted an excuse to buy a super capacitor so I built another one of my chuck gliders and glued an electric motor from a vibrating toothbrush on the front. The propeller is made from a strip of aluminium cut from a drinks can.\r
I charged the capacitor for about 5 minutes using 2 AA batteries before each flight. This gave it enough power to cross my garden with a slight climb in its flight path. I dont think it would do well in windy conditions and would probably do better indoors.\r
A proper propeller would improve performance significantly.\r
\r

The width and length of the plane were just based on what the biggest section was that I could cut from the plates. The coffee stirrer is 17cm long. Each wing is 15.5cm long and 6cm wide. The tail is 12cm tip to tip and 3cm wide\r

You would get better results buying a proper propeller for small electric planes online.\r

This motor came from a vibrating toothbrush or you might try a pager motor. I have lots of old Oral B Pulsar toothbrushes that I have saved over the years. However I would not buy the toothbrush just to get the motor, they are expensive toothbrushes and you can get better more powerful motors for much LESS money if you buy online from somewhere like eBay or Amazon. I suggest you search for 3.7V Coreless Motor\r

Wireless Electricity: a Simple Experiment

With only 4 components you can experiment with wireless transmission of electric energy. This system exploits the resonant inductive coupling between two coils to transmit energy between them.\r
\r
Slider 2732 (you should check his channel, he has great experiments on wireless systems and other subjects ) makes the following suggestions:\r
\r
Any NPN or PNP small signal transistor can be used. For PNP, simply swap the battery connections over. Best to try, include 2N2222A, S9014, C1815, C1213, MPSA06. For PNP, 2SA733 and upward.\r
For overheating troubles, make sure to have 12+ turns and/or add 100ohm resistor into a power wire input, or a similar resistor to the Base.\r
Adding a 1N4148 diode on the other power input will also drastically reduce heat and current.\r
To run at higher voltages than 1.5V, add a 5K variable resistor to the Base.\r
Use 12 turns and above for reliable operation, around 26AWG wire works best.\r
Small ceramic capacitors can be added to receiving coils for improved efficiency. 0.001 range (102 as written on popular types). Receiving coils can be various and need not match the transmitting coil.such as a ferrite round choke with LED on top, 1/2 diameter coil or pancake coil.

Los policlorobifenilos (PCB) son una familia de 209 congéneres que poseen una estructura química orgánica similar y que se presentan en una variedad de formas que va desde líquidos grasos hasta sólidos cerosos. Existen 12 PCB llamados "de tipo dioxina" que también pueden ser tóxicos y no-tóxicos. Un PCB "de tipo dioxina" es el 3,4,4',5-Tetraclorobifenilo.

El Policloruro de bifenilo (PCB) está considerado según el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente (PNUMA) como uno de los doce contaminantes más nocivos fabricados por el ser humano. Actualmente su uso está prohibido en casi todo el mundo.
Debido a su gran estabilidad termica biológica y quimica, así como por su elevada constante dieléctrica, los PCB's se usaron masivamente hasta mediados de la década de 1970 como aislantes para equipos eléctricos como transformadores, interruptores, capacitores y termostatos. Su mayor fabricante a escala mundial ha sido la empresa Monsanto, que en 1935 absorbió la empresa que lo comercializaba desde 1927, Swann Chemical Company (inicialmente Anniston Ordnance Company).

Por sus características anti-inflamables, la mayoría de los aceites dieléctricos con PCB's se usaron fundamentalmente en áreas con alto riesgo de incendio, tales como plantas industriales, en transporte colectivo de tracción eléctrica (tranvías) y en la industria petroquímica

Ballistic Gel Crushed By Hydraulic Press And Exploded By Bomb

In this video I crush ballistic gel with my hydraulic press. First to test out the ballistic gel, I blow it up with a homemade dry ice bomb. Before I crush it with the hydraulic press I put a block of the ballistic gel on top of a dry ice bomb. As soon as I set the dry ice bomb I run and wait for it to explode! The explosion is huge! However, it ually doesnt make any huge cuts or gashes to the ballistic gel. If the gel were wrapped around the bomb it for sure would have destroyed it. Then I crush another block in the hydraulic press. It ually holds up quite well in the hydraulic press, much longer than I thought it would. After it breaks it splits into tiny pieces that is really satisfying to watch.\r
