Learning About The Planets in Our Solar System
Follow Mr. DeMaio on a fun trip around The Solar System! \r
\r
A fun science lesson for children on the planets in our solar system. Start with the inner planets and have a few laughs with Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars before venturing out to the Outer Planets (a.k.a. the Gas Giants) and talk to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. You will learn a few cool fs about each before we zoom out from our planet, beyond the Milky Way Galaxy, and the far reaches of the universe as we know it.\r

Closest known black hole to Earth discovered 1,600 light-years away, scientists say
Astronomers have discovered the closest known black hole to Earth, just 1,600 light-years away. Scientists reported Friday that this black hole is 10 times more massive than our sun. And it's three times closer than the previous record-holder. It was identified by observing the motion of its companion star, which orbits the black hole at about the same distance as Earth orbits the sun. The black hole was initially identified using the European Space Agency's Gaia spacecraft, said Kareem El-Badry of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. El-Badry and his team followed up with the International Gemini Observatory in Hawaii to confirm their findings, which were published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. The researchers are uncertain how the system formed in the Milky Way. Named Gaia BH1, it's located in the constellation Ophiuchus, the serpent-bearer. Back in May, Harvard researchers released the first-ever photograph of Sagittarius A*, a black hole which si

Pico Los Reales

One of the best things of this route are the splendid views from the top of the Los Reales peak (4.760 feet) in the opening scene of the video, which include the coast of Africa and the rock of Gibraltar, that you can clearly make out in the distance. But it's not the only attraction it has to offer. Besides the forests of Spanish fir tree and black pine, Sierra Bermeja (over 86.000 acres) is one of the biggest areas in the world where the upper mantel of the Earth came up to the surface and formed these reddish-coloured mountains with plutonic rocks. That's why many geologists demand this sierra should be included in the future Sierra de las Nieves National Park, having many support from many national and international associations and institutions like the University of California.
