5-star cat hotel in Malaysia raises bar for feline pampering
Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Feb 8 (EFE/EPA).- (Camera: Fazry Ismail). A boutique hotel in Damansara, a township in the Malaysian capital, offers its guests a professional yet caring service, with comfortable clean rooms, spa treatments, and even dating on offer.
But this smart 35-bedroom hotel is only available to furry, feline guests - cats owned by Malaysians who want only the best for their beloved pets.
Catzonia is part of the growing trend of hotels in Malaysia and other Asian countries seeking to offer superior accommodation for pampered pets, with services on offer including grooming, airport pickups and of course playtime.
Owners can send their cats to the hotel from anywhere between three hours to a whole year, with lodging starting at 25 Malaysian ringgit ($5.60) for an economy room and going up to 150 ringgit for a "Super Very Important Cat" room, an epa journalist reports.
The cats enjoy three meals each day, cuddles with the seven staff members, and socializing with their furry friends - with even a dedicated "dating" area available for female cats in heat.
The cats are closely monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV, with the live footage accessible to clients via their smartphones.
Mohammad Syahir Zainal, 25, told epa he has been running the business for the last three years, aiming to provide a clean, comfortable and high quality service to clients.
"We believe, the cats need holidays too. They always prefer to be treated as a boss. It means the environment must be felt like home, always being cuddled and hugged, and most importantly they don't want to feel lonely," the hotel says on its website.

Segunda noche del Saloufest con fiesta y ruido en las calles
Los jóvenes británicos que participan en el Saloufest han pasando su segunda noche de fiesta y diversión en la localidad de Tarragona. A primera hora de la tarde muchos han aprovechado para comprar alcohol en los supermercados, han cenado pronto y han empezado a beber en las habitaciones de sus hoteles. Unas fiestas que en algunas ocasiones también se han extendido a las piscinas y jardines de los hoteles con música y bailes, para desesperación de vecinos y algunos huéspedes. A partir de las once de la noche han empezado a llenar los locales de ocio nocturno de Salou. Muchos de los jóvenes iban disfrazados y ya a esa hora habían bebido más de la cuenta. La policía vigilaba que no hubiese incidentes y también controlaban sus movimientos miembros de la organización. Este primer grupo está formado por unos 4000 jóvenes y estarán en Salou hasta el próximo jueves.

Cuba elimina la igualdad salarial
Nueva reforma económica en Cuba. El Gobierno de Raúl Castro ha dado hasta el mes de agosto para que todas las empresas cubanas paguen a sus trabajadores según los resultados. Es decir, se pagará a todos los funcionarios según lo que sean capaces de producir y según la calidad en el caso de los servicios. Castro considera ahora que la igualdad salarial ya no es conveniente para la economía de la isla.De esta manera, el ministerio de Trabajo eliminará el límite en los sueldos. El líder cubano ha reconocido que las nóminas que está pagando el Estado, que de media equivalen a unos 11 euros mensuales, no alcanzan para vivir y propone como única salida aumentar la producción. Se trata de otra reforma del Ejecutivo cubano que sigue a la implantada meses atrás que permitía comprar móviles o alojarse en hoteles.
