Brussels, Oct 4 (EFE).- The European Union and Kazakhstan on Tuesday touted in Brussels the good path that bilateral relations are on and vowed to come up with a roadmap for exchanges between the 28-nation bloc and the Central Asian country, focusing mainly on economic cooperation and the fight against terrorism.
"In the first half of next year, we could finish the plan that will be our roadmap," Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov said in a press conference.

Madrid, 3 Jan (EFE).- Spain's new anti-smoking law, which prohibits smoking in all public spaces including bars, restaurants and nightclubs as well as open-air areas such as children's playgrounds and outside hospitals, came into effect on Sunday.
The new legislation puts Spain at the head of the European Union with other member states with respect to smoking regulations.

Hundreds of Migrants Rescued Off Libyan Coast
Over 650 people were rescued off the Libyan Coast on Saturday, May 6, the Spanish government said. The migrants were taken on board the Spanish vessel Canarias bettween Friday night and the early hours of Saturday and will land in Italy.
The rescue was part of the European Union military mission Sophia for combating refugee smuggling in the Mediterranean. The Italian Coast Guard also reported the rescue of over 3,000 migrants on Saturday.

Brussels — Law enforcement authorities in six different countries have joined forces to take down a "super cartel" of drugs traffickers controlling about one third of the cocaine trade in Europe, the European Union crime agency said on Monday. Europol said 49 suspects have been arrested during the investigation, with the latest series of raids across Europe and the United Arab Emirates taking place between November 8-19. The agency said police forces involved in "Operation Desert Light" targeted both the "command-and-control center and the logistical drugs trafficking infrastructure in Europe." Over 30 tons of drugs were seized during the investigations run in Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UAE with the support of Europol. Ukraine war: Czechs donate £1.1m to buy Soviet-era tank to help fight against Russia invasion
The T-72 Avenger has been modernised to improve its protective systems and to add modern night-vision and communications equipment. A crowdfunding campaign in the Czech Republic has raised more than 33 million crowns (£1.1m) to buy a modernised Soviet-era T-72 tank that will be sent to the Ukrainian army to help it fight Russia's invasion. Run by the Ukrainian embassy in Prague, more than 11,200 people donated money. Ukrainian deputy foreign minister Yevhen Perebyinis said on Twitter: "The Czech Republic became the first country where ordinary people bought a tank."
