It teaches him to be kind and generous at the same time, and also gets rid of the ridiculous the amount of candy kids get on Halloween. This year we are going to be doing more of these awesome candy science experiments with the treats we get!

30 Minute Salted Caramel Cinnamon Rolls (VEGAN!)

Today we are making some vegan 30 minute no-rise salted caramel cinnamon rolls! I dont know about you, but I never want to wait for dough to rise. Nobody has time for that haha! (kidding..kind of..) This recipe only takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. Recipe below! \r

Dough:\r
2 cups all-purpose flour\r
4 tbsp baking powder\r
2 tbsp sugar\r
1/4 cup vegan butter or coconut oil\r
1 cup non-dairy milk (add slowly in case you dont need all of it)\r

Cinnamon filling:\r
1/2 cup brown sugar\r
2 tsp cinnamon\r
3-4 tbsp butter to spread on the dough\r
\r
Caramel sauce:\r
I used 1 bag of Cocomels (bought on Amazon) and melted them with a couple tbsp non dairy milk. Here are some caramel sauce recipes you can make from scratch:\r

Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and firm to the touch\r

Ussop and Luffy are both fascinated with beetles, in f, Luffy almost got left behind in the Jaya Town because he looked for Hercules the beetle. (thats aside from Luffy wating a Bronze Statue)\r
That Heracles beetle turned out to be a foreshadowing of Ussops trainer during the timeskip as well, which is Heraclesn\r
Ussop is known to be fascinated with bugs, (a pun of his slingshot as well)\r

*** A quick note to the people that seem to be confused or be bothered by this haul:\r

Shopping ethically can be done in different ways, the way I approach it is to shop less (because of the colder season I wanted to get more appropriate things in my wardrobe) instead of shopping once a week or receiving clothes from a ton of cheap websites for free, like I used to do before. I also do not support fast fashion brands that dont treat people with the respect they deserve (for example, I had to cut off Zara, which was my favorite store) but do research and read about companies that are at least trying to make a difference, like H&M (although I havent shopped there in a while). If you take a look at the ASOS policy you will see how they clearly state that their line of clothing (which doesnt refer to the other brands they sell in the website) is produced in poor countries but does work with them in an good way - in f, being related to third world countries doesnt always equal to sweatshops. Of course, the easiest way to shop ethically is to buy vintage, second hand or recycled clothing, but you will notice that not too many brands offer that at the moment, unfortunately. But then again, shopping ethically also means making an investment buy, which basically means buying an item that will last you a longer period of time, so that you dont end up throwing it away after a few seasons and end up in poor countries as waste, which causes diseases - thats the reason why I picked that bag. Now, I think its kind of unfair how people are so quick to point fingers, when honestly Im just trying to live my life in a better way, as others. If one day I feel like buying a piece of clothing I absolutely love, and notice that maybe it wasnt made under ideal conditions, that doesnt make me a monster or an hypocrite, it just means that Im aware of what is happening around the world and will simply try my best to limit the destruction on my side without completely deprive myself of something. Hopefully this clears things up, I dont find it fair how just because I talk about these issues and bring attention to them, as soon as I buy something I get called out on it - especially if I havent gone against any of my beliefs to begin with. \r

Timelapse - DSLR tips. Part 1: Shooting

Timelapse is fun! Part 1 of a complete tutorial on making a timelapse video with an DSLR. Advice on equipment - tripod and intervalometer - plus how to set up the shot and work out the correct intervals to create a dynamic timelapse.\r

In this clip were talking about one of my favourite things which is timelapse. In this clip were going to talk about shooting timeouts and in part two, which you can go to by clicking here, well look at pulling it all together in post-production using QuickTime Player 7. \r

Now, one of the great things about making timelapse in this digital age is it you really dont need a lot of equipment. So first of all, heres a quick rundown of what you do need.\r
\r
First of all you need a tripod. The quality of the tripod really depends on the conditions that youre shooting in and the weight of your equipment. If your camera is not too heavy and is no wind then a pretty cheap plasticy tripod will be fine. But really Id recommend something a bit sturdier particularly if theres any kind of breeze blowing, because I really cant stress it enough: stability, keeping the camera still, is absolutely essential.\r

Next is something I find very hard to say. Its an intervalometer. This is something you plug into your camera. It allows you to control the number of shots and the spaces in between them. A timelapse is really a sequence of still photos taken at regular intervals and then played one after another very quickly. I picked up my intervalometer very cheaply on eBay. I think it was about $20 or $30.\r

And finally you need fairly large memory cards because youre going to be shooting a lot of stills and you may be shooting in Raw format. So youll need lots of space. Id say 16 GB, 32 GB. \r
\r
Now you might be wondering why we dont just shoot some video and then just speed it up in post-production. While thats definitely an option and it does work quite well, there are some pros and cons. On the positive side, its very easy to just set the camera up press record and let it roll. No fiddling around working out intervals, how many shots you need, that kind of thing.\r
\r
But on the downside, it means you really cant do long timelapses. One of the beauties of the still image timelapse is it that you can do it over hours and days, you do over weeks or months or years if you like. So, speeding up video is good for maybe a minute or two but beyond that it really doesnt work.\r
\r
Another downside is, while the resolution of video is fine, with still capture you can get really high definition and that means when you use timelapse, perhaps in a video, you can zoom in without any real loss of quality.\r
\r
So were out in the field. We have the tripod setup with the camera on it and the first thing to do is to frame up your timelapse shot. So the important thing is to ensure that there are moving elements in the shot. They dont have to move very fast. Here, for example, we have the clouds in the sky moving slowly, we have the boats on the water and maybe the tide coming in and out as well \r

Next we want to make sure were working on a clean or empty memory card. When it comes to processing the pictures later, as well see in the next video, it saves a lot of time if the only images on the card are of the ual timelapse.\r
\r
So next lets set the ISO and shutter and the aperture on the camera. So Im going for ISO 100 as its a pretty bright day. Now Ive set the shutter speed to 30 of the second. I tend to prefer quite slow shutter speeds when shooting timelapse. That way the end result doesnt appear too jerky, its a little bit blurred which smooths it all out quite nicely.\r

For aperture, I really want the view to be sharp from the foreground to the background. So Im shooting at F-16. Now F8 or F 11 would probably work fine as well, but for me to get that slow aperture or Ive gone for F16.\r
\r
Now we also want to decide whether to shoot RAW or JPEG. Later when we process the images, we going to convert everything to JPEG. But I would suggest unless the light is very steady, very constant, I would shoot RAW. That way youve got plenty of flexibility to adjust exposure. If you have a scene where the sun is dipping in and out of cloud, chances are some of your shots will be either over- or under-exposed and if youre shooting raw thats very easy to fix. But that does mean again that you need a large memory card that will contain all those RAW files.\r

So now were going to look at the intervalometer and we need to think about the intervals between the shots. Now on the back of my intervalometer Ive pasted this very handy guide. Lets take a closer look. So this gives us a rough guid
