Barclays pagará 31 millones de euros por manipular el precio del oro

Las autoridades reguladoras del mercado británico han impuesto esta multa al banco inglés después de que uno de sus trabajadores fijase el precio del oro, a fin de beneficiarse a costa de uno de sus clientes entre los años 2004 y 2013.

Durante ese periodo, el Barclays era uno de los bancos que fijaban el precio del metal “Gold Fixing” dos veces al día.

El “Gold Fixing” es un mecanismo que permite a los inversores comprar y vender oro a un precio único.

Con anterioridad, Barclays había aceptado pagar 146 millones de euros a las autoridades estadounidenses en concepto de sanción civil por haber manipulado y presentado informes falsos que afectaron al cálculo de los tipos de referencia del mercado interbancario Libor y Euribor

Rabbids Go Home is the fourth installment in the Rabbids . It was released on the Nintendo Wii on November new. Unlike the three previous Rabbids games, Go Home is a comdey-adventure game rather than the original party game format. It is the most important game in the Rabbidssonce it is the first game to completely exclude Rayman from the franchise, leading to the Rabbids having created their own seperate franchise. In this game, the Rabbids grow tired of invading the Earth and decide to go back to their home, which they think is the moon. In order to get to the moon, the Rabbids decide build a humongous pile of human objects, tall enough to reach the moon.\r
Gameplay\r
Players take control of two Rabbids riding a shopping cart using the Nunchuck. The main objective if the game is to collect as much XS stuff as possible in each mission. Collecting all XS stuff is optional, but in order to complete the level, collecting an XL object is mandatory, these XL objects include Cows, Bubble Beds, and Airplane Turbines. At some points in the game, you will be able to go the junkyard, which is the main base for the pile, and throw a recent XL object into the pile, later granting you upgradable abilities for your Rabbids such as the Super Boost and the ability to drive your shopping cart through the water. The main hub of the game is the downtown section of the city, where you can collect anything you desire or find the entrances for your next mission, this city will evolve as you progress through the game as Verminators begin to appear within the city. In each mission, if you collect certain special objects, you will trigger a cutscene involving the Rabbids intering with the object you just picked up in hilarious ways, in order to provide the player comic relief through gameplay. Some levels have you riding on jet turbines or racing cows, which offer unique and varied gameplay experience. During certain parts of the game, you will also be able to give the objects youve collected so far to the Collector Rabbids, who are large Rabbids playing tubas\r

Euromaidán embosca en la Casa de Ucrania a los antidisturbios

Un numeroso grupo de manifestantes ha rodeado y bloqueado el edificio situado en las inmediaciones de la plaza de la Independencia ante el rumor de que un grupo de policías antidisturbios se había refugiado para cargar contra los opositores que protestan en los alrededores del estado del Dínamo de Kiev. Los policías se encontraban, efectivamente, dentro de la Casa, y con la mediación de Vitali Klitschko finalmente ha terminado el lanzamiento de bengalas y han podido salir sin incidentes.

“Nos quieren comprar”, decía un manifestante sobre la oferta de Yanukóvich a la oposición. “Pero no los ucranianos no estamos en venta, tomamos decisiones, queremos que él y su Gobierno dimitan”. Otro aseguraba: “Estamos en un punto en el que la policía puede usar la violencia para tomar el lugar. Lo único que entienden es el uso de la fuerza”.

La escaramuza en la Casa de Ucrania, antiguo museo Lenin, demuestra que las protestas del Euromaidán son completamente distintas a la Revolución Naranja de 2004. La tensión en Ucrania alcanza niveles máximos.

“La proposición de Yanukóvich es interesante para los líderes de la oposición, pero llaman a los manifestantes a quedarse en las calles de Kiev, en las barricadas, hasta el martes. En ese día el Parlamento celebrará una sesión especial para discutir la controvertida ley que restringe las protestas”, dice una de nuestras corresponsales en Kiev.

People of Suncheon Bay live by the time of tides, not by the time on a clock. Early in the morning Magnum Photos photographer Chris Steele-Perkins joins the fishermen out to sea to plant cockle seeds. Then he goes out to the mudflats in order to photograph the transplantations of cockle seeds and the people who make their living from the mudflats. Watch how he learns to maneuver the mud skis for the first time in his life.

When lands were being reclaimed all over the country, people of Suncheon Bay chose to go the other way, to preserve the mudflats. As a result, they were able to make a very special future for themselves. In the last ten years the number of cranes wintering around the bay increased ten folds. What forces motivate the people of Suncheon Bay to defend the area from reckless development? Chris's camera tries to find an answer to that question by recording the special conservation efforts of Suncheon Bay habitants.

"Inversores chinos buscan piso en esta zona": la empresa detrás de la propaganda que inunda Madrid

"Inversores chinos buscan piso en esta zona. Oferta y firma en sólo 15 días. Rápido y fácil". Este escueto mensaje escrito en una cuartilla de papel lleva años circulando por Madrid. Está en los buzones de muchas viviendas, en los parabrisas de los coches o pegado en las farolas de barrios como Campamento, Aluche o San Fermín.

Se trata de una campaña publicitaria impulsada por Bafre Inmobiliaria, empresa de origen chino que gestiona la venta y alquiler de viviendas de segunda mano, y comercializa obra nueva en la Comunidad de Madrid. Fue fundada por la familia de Long Fang Hu, el actual CEO, en 2004. La base de operaciones estaba (y aún hoy se mantiene) en el barrio de Usera, el Chinatown madrileño. Por aquel entonces, la mayoría de sus clientes formaba parte de la comunidad china no residente en el país.

"Cuando comenzamos había una gran barrera con el idioma. Las personas de China que querían comprar pisos en barrios humildes de la ciudad se encontraban con muchos problemas, ya que no podían comunicarse con los propietarios para ver las casas, tampoco para negociar el precio ni tramitar toda la documentación de la compraventa. Nosotros les ayudamos con eso y también a negociar con los bancos", explica Long Fang Hu. Este empresario de 32 años empezó a trabajar en la empresa familiar como comercial en 2010, en plena crisis del ladrillo, y dos años después compró la compañía a su hermano. Fue entonces cuando comenzó el proceso de expansión hacia el mercado nacional.
