Traditional wedding ceremony in Nepal attracts many visitors. They themselves perform their marriage ceremony in Nepal just like the Nepali way and system. The groom's party is supposed to arrive at the wedding spot in a procession, so it's good to have a convenient assembly location nearby.

Astrologers decide on auspicious dates within this period on the basis of the position of the stars. The system of performing wedding ceremony in Nepal is attention-grabbing where the bride and bridegroom perform the Puja and take best wishes as well as blessing from relatives, friends and family members. The marriage venue is decorated by colorful paper flowers and twinkling lights. A Nepalese bride will dress in the bridal color of red, will be beautifully made up and will wear much jewelry. Traditionally, the bride and groom are being carried to the wedding ceremony. In a village this may be in a basket or by horse; at a city wedding transportation is more likely to be by a parade of cars. Music is an essential part of marriages. The tradition music in the form of Pachai Baja and folk songs and dance is still most popular among people as on this sacred day they believe that playing traditional music strengthens the nuptial knot, pleases God and not least of all it makes the environment pleasant and charming. Surfing is a surface water sport in which an individual, a surfer, uses a board to ride on the forward section, or face, of a moving wave of water, which usually carries the surfer towards the shore. Waves suitable for surfing are primarily found on ocean shores, but can also be found in standing waves in the open ocean, in lakes, in rivers in the form of a tidal bore, or in wave pools.

The term surfing usually refers to the act of riding a wave using a board, regardless of the stance. There are several types of boards. The Moche of Peru would often surf on reed craft, while the native peoples of the Pacific surfed waves on alaia, paipo, and other such water craft. Ancient cultures often surfed on their belly and knees, while the modern-day definition of surfing most often refers to a surfer riding a wave standing on a surfboard; this is also referred to as stand-up surfing.

Another prominent form of surfing is body boarding, in which a surfer rides the wave on a bodyboard, either lying on their belly, drop knee (one foot and one knee on the board), or sometimes even standing up on a body board. Other types of surfing include knee boarding, surf matting (riding inflatable mats) and using foils. Body surfing, in which the wave is caught and ridden using the surfer's own body rather than a board, is very common and is considered by some surfers to be the purest form of surfing. The closest form of body surfing using a board is a handboard which normally has one strap over it to fit on one hand.

Muslims in South Asia celebrate end of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr festival

Kathmandu, Jun 26 (EFE).- Followers of Islam across the countries of South Asia Monday celebrated the Eid al-Fitr festival marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims abstain from food and sexual activity from dawn until sunset.

Muslims living in the Himalayan republic of Nepal Monday morning celebrated Eid by meeting for prayers in Kathmandu's huge Kashmiri Masjid mosque.

Devotees began arriving at the large central mosque around 8 am local time, and prayers started about an hour later, an epa journalist reports.

At the peak of Monday morning's prayer session, about 10,000 people were gathered in the Kashmiri mosque, one of the largest in Nepal and which sits just a short walk from the Nepalese capital's iconic Kathmandu Durbar Square, a former royal palace.

Once prayers ended around 9.30 am, people exchanged greetings and hugs.

Similar Eid scenes played out in other parts of South Asia, and hundreds of kilometers south of Kathmandu in Calcutta of eastern India, thousands of Muslims met Monday morning inside one of the city's oldest mosques.

In this southern Calcutta mosque, built more than a century ago, as devotees told epa, more than 4,000 people met for Eid prayers.

The mood was reportedly upbeat following the prayers, with people eagerly explaining to epa the history of the mosque and the local area.

Some 250 kilometers northeast of Calcutta, in the bustling Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka, thousands of Muslims flocked to the National Eid Prayer Ground, an area set up near the High Court specially for the end of Ramadan.

The spacious Prayer Ground has been used for Eid for several years, an epa journalist reports, and about 15,000 people came here to pray Monday.

With Dhaka being one of the world's largest and most densely populated cities, stability was a top priority for Eid prayers, and devotees had to queue up before they could enter the grounds, and security personnel helped them come in.

In addition, the country's President Abdul Hamid and several other senior officials attended prayers, with a few thousand armed police officers standing guard around the grounds.

People were overheard saying they hope God helps make Bangladesh safe and they prayed for peace for all of humanity.

About 570 million people across South Asia - mostly in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh - are followers of Islam, and account for around 30 percent of the world's Muslim population.
