SCRIPT

Men and women braved the rain and the strength of dozens of wild horses weighing several hundred kilograms Saturday in the Spanish town of Sabucedo for the "Rapa das Bestas," a controversial festival which involves wrestling wild horses and forcibly cutting their manes and tails while the animals try to resist.

The horses used in the festival live in a semi-feral state in the nearby mountains. Wrestling the animals, which can weigh several hundred kilograms, is seen as a test of strength and will. "Rapa das Bestas" means "Cropping the Beasts."

Horse wrestling is considered animal abuse by a number of organisations, such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). In the U.S. state of Oklahoma, horse wrestling is legally classified as animal cruelty, punishable by a fine of up to $5,000 (€3,680) and seven years in prison.

Fleeing Smoke, Passengers Climb Onto Mexico Metro Platform

Mexico City’s metro service reported at least 31 people were treated after smoke filled carriages in the Line 1 tunnels.

The smoke was reportedly caused by a failure of one of the trains on the network and smoke was reported at the Chapultepec and Juanacatlán stations.

At least 10 people were taken to hospital for further treatment, among them a pregnant woman, according to local reports.

However, the offense is a Class D felony if the person has a previous, unrelated conviction under this section or the person knowingly or intentionally tortures or mutilates a vertebrate animal.

A turtle is considered to be a vertebrate animal with a unique skeleton. This means that a turtle's shell is more than an outer covering, it is an integral part of the animal's body. As the turtle develops inside the egg its shoulder blade remains inside the rib cage. During the turtle's early embryology when its skeleton is forming, the shoulder blade and the ribs become part of the shell.

- Mount Merapi began erupting Tuesday and has killed at least 39 people in the past week. Over 75% of traumatic brain injuries are so-called mild injuries (mTBIs), often known as concussions. Most people recover completely and are fully functional within two weeks. In about ten percent of cases, however, and especially where there has been repeated injury, symptoms can persist and alter the lives of the affected individuals and their families. Cognitive deficits, memory problems, emotional outbursts, impulsive and erratic behavior, sleep problems, headaches, and other issues can make mTBI much more than a "mild" condition.
Compounding the problem is the alarming prevalence of misdiagnosis, which is due largely to the lack of a reliable physical test for mTBI (it often does not register on CATs, MRIs, etc.). This misdiagnosis results in improper treatments, wasted resources, and an untold amount of difficulty, doubt and confusion for the individual who has sustained the injury.

This cryptid has been reported along the Atlantic coast, from the US to Canada … and is said to prefer colder weather. In Algonquin folklore, the Wendigo can be perceived as either a cannibalistic monster or an evil spirit. In its spirit form, it will possess a human and transform them into an abomination. Or it can appear as a monster that displays human traits. In this version, theyre said to stand around 14 feet high, with a gaunt frame and ashy grey skin. One particular description I liked called it an enormous, animated skeleton that reeks of decay. Most accounts agree they have long tongues, sharp yellow fangs and glowing eyes. The word ‘Sasquatch comes from the language of the Salish (sal-ish), people indigenous to coastal British Columbia. The word means ‘wild man … and native tribes have long related stories of ape-like animals roaming through North American forests. The Spokanes (spoh-KANs) of Washington state spoke of a race of hairy giants that would arrive at night to steal people and salmon. Witnesses have described them as having a pronounced brow ridge, standing up to 11 feet tall and covered in a coat of reddish brown fur. While theyre most often portrayed as ape-like creatures, the earliest reported sightings claimed they were more bear-like in appearance. Theres a pictograph of a Sasquatch that dates back around a thousand years located near Taft California at the Painted Rock Shelter? You can see it in detail in the picture taken by Kathy Moskowitz Strain. The painting itself is about 8.5 feet tall … and depicts a creature standing upright with its arms outstretched. The left arm has white outlines … while its right arm appears to be a rusty shade of red. Two similar forms are located next to the creature, which are believed to portray a mother and child. Local indigenous people referred to the being as “Hairy Man” Did you know that sightings of such cryptids have been reported on every continent except Antarctica.

7. Chinese Ghost Towns\r
It almost seems like a new Chinese tradition to build extremely large cities but with no one in them and see what happens later on. Whether its to house future residents or just to prove they have the resources to do it, Chinas ghost towns are some of the most unbelievable. Its believed that Chinas urban cities will contain about 70% of its population in about 15 years. Chinas most well known Kangbashi was completely lifeless despite its abandoned high rise apartments, large freeways and everything a modern city could desire. But just recently people starting moving here, and despite the surplus of living spaces, China has come up with the a completely new urban strategy. Build the city first; then let the people fill in. Although it might seem like strange ghost towns now, in the future they could be one of the worlds most advanced cities in the world.\r

While ants might be those tiny, creepy insects that always seem to crawling through your house, the Chinese believe that eating ants can cure diseases and relieve pain. Foot-binding is the painful process of wearing extremely tight shoes at a young age to prevent any further growth. Some cases are just mind boggling when the size of a shoe is only 3 inches. In severe cases, women would lose complete circulation to their toes and they would have to be amputated! While some cultures find it rude to burp at a dinner table, its almost rude in China not to burp! Many of us are taught not to do this from a young age. Burping is seen as a sign of appreciation to the chef and that you enjoyed your meal. When their eating soup, a loud slurping noise is also considered polite. So if someone is giving you a hard time about this, next time you can say that its completely fine in China. Compliments to the chef!\r

If you ever head to a beach some day in China, dont be too startled if you see someone wearing one of these. While people in the US usually go to the beach in order to get a tan, people in China try to avoid it as much as possible. The face-kini is also been reported as something that will protect them from pesky jellyfish sting. While not all Chinese people eat dogs, it is more common in southern provinces. The city of Yulin holds a controversial festival each year in June despite global outrage. Thousand of dogs are slaughtered and some are served restaurants while others in the streets. China doesnt have any large scale dog-breeding farms unlike other countries where this meat is consumed. As a result, many local dogs are stolen from their owners illegally. Also these animals are shipped there with unknown origins. The inhabitants of this town claim it to be a tradition and supporters claim that its no different than killing cows, chickens or other farm animals. While quite a few countries in Asia have banned consumption of dogs, China is not one of them. As you see in this photo, many dogs are stored in cramped cages waiting for what will happen next.\r

7 Future Preditions of Computer Animation

Computer animation is created by two or three dimensional graphics of computers. Two dimensional computer animation is used for quick rendering and for low bandwidth animation. In cartooning, the computer to be used and the film that is the image generated by the computer is considered. This is a concern especially when making a movie. To create movement in a model, the photo is placed in the screen monitor of the computer used and then changed by a slightly shifted image that looks the same as the previous one. This method is used in making motion pictures to project a movement that is an illusion of how it is with reality.

All computer animated objects uses different computer programs for the detailed representation of the characters in the film. A great challenge for animators is to make a realistic image of humans using computer animation. Today, movies that are computer animated are mostly animal or fantasy models and sometimes humans that are made to look like a cartoon. There are many attempts for movies that are computer generated to make human characters look real. This can be seen in movies like "The Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within". But because of the complexity to replicate the human body, motion, and biomechanics, it is still a big problem to simulate real humans.

It was planned to make a software program wherein the artist will create a sequence in a movie that shows a photo of a realistic human model, going through some believable movements. The clothes and the physical attributes of a real human like the hair are included in making the realistic human photo. It is also the animator's goal to put a complex yet natural-looking background, and, if possible, they aim to make realistic characters which blend together and make a realistic whole. Artists attempt to do this in such a way that the people watching will not think that a movie is generated by computers or made with the participation of the actors acting in front of the camera. This plan of simulating real human characters is definitely not going to happen in the near future. However, a concept like making realistic people can have a bearing in the film and computer animation industry for future developments.

Animators for computer games and television are doing animation using photorealistic design with a high detail. The quality of computer animation used in making movies would take many years to accomplish if you are using a personal computer alone. To make the photorealistic design possible, powerful and high quality computer work stations are used. The workstations that are used to make computer animations are specialized to render the images for a soft realistic output of the cartoon.
