TERRIFYING Carriages Collide On Winter Wonderland Ride

Watch the terrifying mid-air collision between carriages on Cardiff's Winter Wonderland Sky Ride

This is the terrifying moment a stray seat on the huge Sky Ride at Cardiff's Winter Wonderland swung loose and collided with two people using the ride.

The dramatic video was posted it on Facebook by Leanne Williams, who was on the ride at the time, with the comment: "Just a warning to any one who goes to Winter Wonderland (Cardiff) be aware of this ride.

"Watch and see what happens. Scariest moment of my life".

The terror for those on the ride starts at two vacant seats start swinging alarmingly out of sync with those carrying passengers, apparently after being caught by a gust of wind.

As they gain momentum, they sway increasingly, eventually colliding with those carrying members of the public.

Then, after contact is made, the ride comes to an abrupt halt, with everyone aboard left dangling hundreds of feet above Cardiff.

Cardiff Council, which organises Winter Wonderland, and Sayers Amusements, a Port Talbot-based firm which operates Sky Ride, have been asked to comment.

But this smart 35-bedroom hotel is only available to furry, feline guests - cats owned by Malaysians who want only the best for their beloved pets.
Catzonia is part of the growing trend of hotels in Malaysia and other Asian countries seeking to offer superior accommodation for pampered pets, with services on offer including grooming, airport pickups and of course playtime.
Owners can send their cats to the hotel from anywhere between three hours to a whole year, with lodging starting at 25 Malaysian ringgit ($5.60) for an economy room and going up to 150 ringgit for a "Super Very Important Cat" room, an epa journalist reports.
The cats enjoy three meals each day, cuddles with the seven staff members, and socializing with their furry friends - with even a dedicated "dating" area available for female cats in heat.
The cats are closely monitored 24 hours a day by CCTV, with the live footage accessible to clients via their smartphones.
Mohammad Syahir Zainal, 25, told epa he has been running the business for the last three years, aiming to provide a clean, comfortable and high quality service to clients.
"We believe, the cats need holidays too. They always prefer to be treated as a boss. It means the environment must be felt like home, always being cuddled and hugged, and most importantly they don't want to feel lonely," the hotel says on its website.

Several Occupy Atlanta protesters have been arrested after a rally in a city park spilled into the streets. Several hundred protesters had gathered at city's Woodruff Park and set up tents with the intention of staying overnight. Despite a police warning that anyone who remained after the park's closing time would be arrested, protesters stayed at the park longer then the mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed, allowed. He initially issued an executive order allowing them to stay overnight, but later revoked it. While most protesters left the park, a few people stayed behind. On October 25 more than 50 people were arrested for staying in the park after closing. Protesters began camping out in Woodruff Park on October 7 in support of OWS/99 per cent movement.

This event is considered by the local people as "good ole fun" or "family entertainment".

Somehow this idiotic, barbaric event has been allowed to continue for 15 years despite the fact that it is clearly against the law - Indiana code 35-46-3; Torture, Beating, mutilation of vertebrate animals

Indiana law stipulates:

A person having a vertebrate animal in the person's custody who recklessly, knowingly, or intentionally abandons or neglects the animal commits cruelty to an animal, a Class B misdemeanor. A person who knowingly or intentionally purchases or possesses an animal for the purpose of using the animal in an animal fighting contest commits a Class A misdemeanor.

However, a person who knowingly or intentionally promotes or stages an animal fighting contest, uses an animal in a fighting contest, or attends an animal fighting contest having an animal in the person's possession commits a Class D felony.

Further, a person who knowingly or intentionally beats a vertebrate animal commits cruelty to an animal, a Class A misdemeanor. However, the offense is a Class D felony if the person has a previous, unrelated conviction under this section or the person knowingly or intentionally tortures or mutilates a vertebrate animal.

A turtle is considered to be a vertebrate animal with a unique skeleton. This means that a turtle's shell is more than an outer covering, it is an integral part of the animal's body. As the turtle develops inside the egg its shoulder blade remains inside the rib cage. During the turtle's early embryology when its skeleton is forming, the shoulder blade and the ribs become part of the shell.

It was his injunction that any houses built in the precincts of the fort should not be taller than his house, and if the shadow of any such house fell on his house, it would result in destruction of the fort town.[8]\r

SINHAI, the wizard who was adept in black magic fell in love with Ratnavati, the princess of Bhangarh who was very beautiful and had suitors to marry her from many royal families of the country. As a result, the boulder started rolling down towards the wizard and crushed him. Before he died, he cursed that Bhangarh would be destroyed soon and no one would be able to live within its precincts. Subsequently, Bhangarh Fort was invaded by the Mughals from the north and the city was surrounded and sacked; 10,000 people lived in the fort city at that time. All the people in the fort, including the princess, were killed. The present state of the fort is attributed to the curse of the wizard and people believe the ghosts in the fort are that of the princess and the wizard.\r

LIVITY SONGS live @ Main Stage 2011

After the Reggae Contest Argentina y Uruguay great final took place the past week-end, the choice of the jury was for the engaging reggae lovers latino style of Livity Songs. Among other prizes, the band won the possibility to play at Rototom SUnsplash 2011. 11 bands and 5 DJs coming from all over Argentina and Uruguay performed on stage at Groove in Buenos Aires as finalists for the competition. All would have deserved to win and some very interesting and enthralling shows have been brought on. For the DJ section, the winner is Miss Bolivia.

These finals are the result of the impressive work that the Reggae Contest Argentina & Uruguay team have done during the past months, with the collaboration of more than 100 persons, who voluntarily made this project possible, in name of music, peace and unity.

Africa, with its many nations and tribes, is very rich in different wedding traditions. An old African proverb says, "A man without a wife is like a vase without flowers."
The Ndebele people live in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Mother-in-law of the Ndebele bride makes her a "jocolo". The Jocolo is a five-paneled, beaded goatskin apron. During ceremonies this apron is worn by all married women.

The Shona people live in Zimbabwe and southern Mozambique. Dowry or "roora" is a regular part of their weddings. It is paid to the bride's family as a sign of respect. The bride decides when she will go to her groom. She can arrive at night with her female cousins escorting her. She arrives during the day when she wants to surprise her future husband. She then wears white from head to toe. It is believed that by doing so nobody can see her.

As soon as members of groom's family notice her they start dancing and ululating. The groom's family begins preparations for a party. It takes some time, so the bride is encouraged to keep walking through the village. People are very happy as her arrival and giving birth to babies is going to enlarge their community.

The procession ends when the mother-in-law escorts the bride to her new home. There the bride gets presents and is being pleaded to remove her veil. It is a sign for the party to begin. Such parties last all through the night.

The Yoruba people live in Nigeria and some other parts of Western Africa. Out of Africa Yoruba communities exist in Brazil, the USA, Jamaica, Haiti etc. One of the ceremonies held at the Yoruba weddings is tasting. In this ceremony the bride and groom taste for example peppercorns for bitterness, honey for happiness and dried fish for nourishment.

Egyptian weddings are often arranged. At the engagement part a groom-to-be gives his bride-to-be a money known as Mahr. This money is used to buy jewelery called Shabka and furniture. The groom gives her a ring which she wears on her right hand. Before the wedding henna tattoos are applied on bride's feet and hands.

The wedding starts with the performance of Zaffa music which involves traditional bendir drums, bagpipes, horns etc. The wedding ceremony is performed in mosque or church.

At the wedding feast the happy couple sits on Kosha chairs raised on a platform. Kofta meatballs and rose water drink called Sharpat are just two delicacies served at the wedding meal. In Egypt women pinch the bride on her wedding day. It means good luck.

At the wedding ceremony held by the Masai (Maasai) nation of Kenya the father of the bride blesses her by spitting on her head and breasts. Then she leaves with her husband. While walking to her new home she never looks back as she believes that she will turn to stone.

Swahilli nation of Kenya bathe bride in sandalwood oils and apply henna tattoos on her limbs. Somo or a woman elder instructs the bride how to satisfy her husband. The somo sometimes hides under the bed in case some unexpected problems appear.
Semi-nomadic Samburu nation lives in Kenya too. For the Samburu people presents prepared by groom (two goatskins, two copper earrings, a milk container, a sheep) are especially important.

Polygamous marriages are common in the Wodabee nation of Niger. Marriages called „coogal“ are arranged by parents during couple's infancy. There are also marriages as result of love. Such marriages are called „teegal“.

Groom's family offers a price to the bride's family. If it is excepted the bride and groom are married. A bride lives with her husband until her pregnancy. Then she returns to her mother's home, where she will remain for the next three to four years.

With the birth of a baby the woman becomes a boofeydo or "someone who has made an error." Being a boofeydo means that she can not see or speak with her husband. The husband can not express any interest in her or the baby.

After two to three years, the woman will be able to visit her husband, but not live with him. Finally, when the woman's mother buys everything that is needed for bride's home, she and the baby return to the husband.
Between 1000 and 1500 Karo (Kara) people live on the east banks of the Omo River in south Ethiopia. To enhance the beauty of the Karo bride her abdomen is tattooed with different symbols. The Karo man can have as many wives as he can afford. Usually he has two or three wives.

Mountain Bike Anatomy - 50 parts in 5 minutes

This is a mountain bike, and at the heart of any bike is its frame. Lets start with the parts of the frame. This here is the top tube, the down tube, the seat tube, the seat stay, and the chain stay. This area down here is called the bottom bracket shell. At the very front of your bike is the head tube, which houses the steerer tube. This moves smoothly thanks to a set of cups and bearings collectively known as the headset. Above that are headset spacers and the stem. The stem, which clamps on to your handlebars, is fastened to the steerer tube with a top cap and pinch bolts. On your handlebars youll find brake levers, shifters, grips, and end plugs. All this stuff up here is collectively known as the cockpit. \r

Moving down is your fork, which in this case is a suspension fork. This top piece is called a crown. Some bikes are fitted with dual crown forks for added strength. The crown is what holds your stanchions, which you should try as hard as possible not to scratch. Dont hang your bike by the stanchions.\r
\r
Down here is your brake caliper, which camps down on your rotor when you squeeze your brake lever. Some calipers are mechanical, while others are hydraulic. Hydraulic brakes push fluid through a hose, while mechanical brakes pull the caliper using a cable. \r
\r
This big round thing is a wheel. If you buy a front and back wheel together, its called a wheelset. All the parts of your wheels are held together using spokes, which connect to your rim with these little guys. Theyre called nipples. Also on the rim is a valve stem which is used for pumping air into your tires. At the center of the wheel is the hub, and inside the hub are bearings. The hub rotates around an axle. On a lot of mountain bikes this takes the form of a thru axle, which can be removed or installed by hand.\r
\r
On the rear wheel a cassette hub. This has a ratcheting mechanism built into it which is made to accept a cassette. The cassette is a set of cogs which can ually be changed to your liking. The size of each cog is measured by the number of teeth it has, and these teeth are specially designed to work with a chain. Your chain is made up of individual links, with one link in particular being possible to unfasten easily. This is called a master link. \r

The chain can be shifted up and down the cassette with a derailleur, which is attached to the bike via a small breakable part called a derailleur hanger. If your derailleur hanger snaps or bends, you can just get a new one. On the derailleur itself is a long spring loaded piece called the cage, which keeps tension on the chain. The chain passes through the upper pulley and lower pulley, also known as the jockey and idler respectively. \r

Moving down to the bottom bracket shell, youll find your crankset, with the most visible parts being the crank arms. The crank arms are attached to the spindle, which runs through a set of bearings which are inside the bottom bracket shell. The spindle and bearings collectively are known as the bottom bracket.\r
\r
The part with all the teeth is called the chainring. Some bikes have up to 3 of these. At the end of the crank arms are pedals, which can be found in many different forms. The crankset, chain, derailleur and cassette are collectively known as your drivetrain.\r
\r
On a full suspension mountain bike youll find a variety of stuff connecting the front and rear of the bike together, known as the suspension linkage. At the heart of all this is your shock. This is usually fastened to the linkage on one side, and to your top tube or down tube on the other.\r
\r
Moving up, we have the seat, or saddle. The two words are interchangeable, but some people think its pretentious to call it a saddle. Personally I dont care what you call it as long as you dont correct other people. In any case this is most definitely not a saddle post, its a seat post, and its held on to your bike with a seat post clamp, or collar. These days a lot of seat posts can be adjusted on the fly. Those are called dropper posts.\r
