When you first tackle a subject as big as music theory you can quickly become overwhelmed by the sheer complexity of it. \r
\r
As someone new to the subject you have two main problems. \r
\r
Firstly, its impossible to tell the difference between the details that are absolutely essential to an understanding of the subject and those details that are really only incidental or perhaps apply only to specialist areas of the subject.\r
\r
Secondly, its really difficult to figure out what order to learn things in.\r
\r
To solve these problems and to help give you as smooth a ride through the subject as possible we have devised a method of presenting the subject of Music Theory in a logical format that s as a step by step guide from start to finish. I call this the Pyramid of Guitar Music Theory.\r
\r
This pyramid includes only two types of items:\r
\r
Firstly: Those things that you need to know to make learning to play guitar at advanced level a quicker and easier process.\r
\r
Secondly it includes some items you may not immediately find a direct use for, but that must be learned in order better to understand the subjects higher on the pyramid.\r
\r
Lets look at it a bit closer from the bottom up:\r
\r
The first two levels have appeared already at various stages on our beginners and intermediate courses -- they are the two minimum pieces of knowledge required to be able to name any note anywhere on the fretboard.\r
\r
Building on this knowledge and ability, the next two steps teach you how to find any Major scale on the fretboard. Whether horizontally.on one string . \r
.or vertically in one position, or any combination of the two.\r
\r
The Major scale is the single most important element in music theory, so the more comprehensive your ability to work with it the better.\r
Once you are familiar with this level of understanding things begin to get a lot more interesting.\r
\r
The next step is one of those you can get by without, but ually, once learnt it will greatly help improve your progress in the higher regions of the pyramid -- this is standard notation..\r
\r
We know that the vast majority of guitar players are never going to have to sight read standard notation, but we also know that it is a great advantage to at least have grasped the basics, and with our lessons we promise you will find this easy and fun!\r
At the next level we take all the mystery out of key signatures - all those sharps and flats that that you find littering chord symbols .\r
.will start to make more sense and youll begin to get a real insight into what it means when we say a particular tune is in a certain major or minor key.\r
\r
At the next stage, we really get to look at the nuts and bolts of how chords are created -- soon youll never need to look at another chord chart book- youll have the understanding necessary to create your own chords out of thin air -- anywhere on the fretboard, in any key!\r
\r
The relationship between scales and chords. \r
\r
How to write really effective chord sequences for your own songs.\r
\r
Work out a chord sequence just by listening to a record -- an essential skill if you want to join a band!\r
\r
Then Understanding the structure of Minor scales will help expand your options when improvising and or composing. \r
\r
Pentatonic scale theory will help you understand how all those great Blues and Rock n Roll licks and riffs ually work. \r
\r
With that knowledge -- youll be able to come up with all sorts of interesting variations on time-honoured clichés of rock music.\r
\r
Finally, the top two steps are really the backbone of Jazz Improvising knowledge, but an understanding of more exotic chords and modes is also great for adding extra creative potential to Rock, Blues and Country style guitar too.\r

http://bit.ly/4JRWtb anxiety depression, -when you start to experience anxious thoughts, it is very important not to force the thoughts away. Let the thoughts in. The more comfortable you can become with them, the better. These thoughts will never go away fully but what you can learn is to change your reaction to them. By changing your reaction to the anxious thoughts you become free of them. Once you establish a new way of reacting to the thoughts it does not matter if you have them or not. Your reaction is what defines the whole experience (and that applies to almost everything). Everybody experiences fleeting thoughts that many would consider scary or crazy. The difference between most people and somebody who gets caught up in them, is that the average person sees them for exactly what they are, fleeting anxious thoughts, and casually ignores them. The anxious person is at a disadvantage as they already have a certain level of anxiety in their system. The thoughts easily spark feelings of further anxiety which builds into a cycle of fear. You break the cycle by changing how you react to the fearful thought. Here is an example of how to approach this: You are enjoying the way your day is going but then all of sudden a fearful thought comes to mind. Before you would react with anxiety to the idea and then try to force that thought out of your mind. This time, however, say: “That’s a fear of X. I could worry and even obsess over that but this time I’m going to do something different. I’m not going to react to it. I’m also not going to try and stop it either. I’m just going to label the thought and not react.” Then the thought comes again with more intensity and possibly with new ’scary’ angles you never considered. When this happens you do exactly the same. As if you were observing a cloud passing overhead, you simply -Observe it, -Label it (fear of whatever), then -Watch it as it passes by with no judgment. then -Move your attention on to what you were doing. How to SAFELY Degrease Your Engine Bay

In the second part of Project Restoration, I use Meguiars Super Degreaser along with some paint brushes to detail the engine bay of the Golf. I remove all of the grease under the engine bay and show you exly how I do it. \r

DISCLAIMER: If you want to do this to your car and you have a Cold Air Intake or a Short Ram Intake, cover the intake in a plastic grocery bag to protect the internals of the engine. Also, it might be a bit easier if you are working on a warm engine, so let the engine run and get hot, and then let it sit for 15 minutes before you work on it. This will help the grease loosen up and make your life a bit easier. Whatever you do, do not start cleaning your engine while it is still running. If your cars intake sucks in a bit of water, you WILL 100% kill your engine. \r

I know there are going to people that will comment and say that the engine bay isnt supposed to get wet, youre an idiot, youre going to kill your engine. Well think of this, what do you think happens to the engine bay when it rains? Do you think it stays dry? Because the bottom side of the engine where the oil pan is, isnt sealed, the engine bay will get wet all of the time. Engineers design engine bays, including all of the electrical components, to be water restistant, including all connections, so it is perfectly safe to do this to your car. \r
