27 detenidos en Barcelona por robar relojes de lujo a turistas

Barcelona, 12 jun (EFE).- Los Mossos d'Esquadra han detenido a 27 ladrones multirreincidentes que acumulan entre todos 250 antecedentes policiales por robar relojes de lujo a turistas con alto poder adquisitivo en Barcelona.

Los Mossos han informado de que los ladrones, 14 de los cuales están en prisión por orden judicial y el resto en libertad con cargos, se apoderaban de los relojes con gran habilidad, sin que sus propietarios se dieran cuenta, aunque si el hurto se complicaba y la víctima oponía resistencia no dudaban en emplear la violencia.

Las víctimas son mayoritariamente turistas que se movían por hoteles, bares, restaurantes y locales de ocio frecuentados por clientes con un alto poder adquisitivo.

Los ladrones vigilaban a sus víctimas potenciales en las inmediaciones de este tipo de establecimientos o de joyerías de lujo de Barcelona frecuentadas también por turistas, observaban si llevaban relojes de lujo que les pudieran interesar, les seguían y, cuando encontraban el momento oportuno, les robaban.

Para hacerlo, se acercaban a la víctima, le tocaban el brazo con cualquier pretexto y, con gran habilidad, le robaban el reloj sin que se enterara, aunque en diversas ocasiones emplearon la violencia cuando fueron descubiertos.

Los mossos calculan que el valor total de lo robado asciende a 312.000 euros -había piezas de precios que oscilaban entre los 500 y los 120.000 euros- y que los relojes eran vendidos posteriormente en países de Oriente Próximo y del norte del Magreb, donde hay una gran demanda de este tipo de productos.

La operación policial la ha llevado a cabo el Grupo de Multirreincidentes de los Mossos y se inició en octubre de 2016, tras detectar un incremento del robo de relojes de alta gama en la vía pública, especialmente en los distritos de Ciutat Vella y Eixample.

Los detenidos, todos ellos hombres que actuaban en grupos de entre cuatro y cinco personas que se intercambiaban pero que no formaban parte de una organización criminal jerarquizada, son de nacionalidad francesa y belga y vivían en París y Londres, desde donde se desplazaban a Barcelona para cometer los robos.

Cuatro de ellos fueron detenidos "in fraganti" el pasado día 9 de marzo, cuando los agentes les localizaron haciendo la vigilancia a una víctima a la que, posteriormente, intentaron robar, momento en el que fueron arrestados.

Los Mossos han informado de que estas 27 detenciones forman parte de la primera fase de un operativo contra este tipo de ladrones de relojes de lujo multirreincidentes, y que está en marcha una segunda fase.
