Caillou is helping Mom clean out the attic. When they come across an old chest, they open it and discover its full of unexpected things that may not be worth much money, but are treasures nonetheless. The family goes away for a weekend of camping in the woods. Caillou is startled when the fish in the lake tickle him. He climbs a mountain with Daddy and really, really hopes he will get to see a moose before its time to go home. Caillou has dinner at Sarahs house and discovers new foods and a new way to eat them. He has so much fun learning how to eat with chopsticks that he even tries to eat dessert with them! Caillou and Mom meet a fascinating woman in the park. Caillou is quick to approach the woman because she has a friendly dog. He notices it isnt on a leash but in a special harness instead. After several questions she explains she is blind and her dog helps he do many things.\r

Its hot and steamy and Mom wont let Caillou go to the public pool since theyve been every day this week! When Caillou refuses to put on some sunscreen and Rosie wont nap, Mom quickly realizes that the hot weather is making everyone grumpy. She and Caillou come up with the perfect solution: they connect the lawn sprinkler for some good time backyard fun - which certainly doesnt need a lot of sophisticated equipment. Caillou, Dad and Rosie are in the car on their way to meet mom. Caillou and Rosie are in the back seat arguing and Dad is losing patience with them. When the car breaks down they have to pull over. Caillou comforts Rosie who becomes afraid when smoke comes out of the engine. Caillou is overjoyed when the tow truck finally arrives and he gets to ride in it to the garage. When Dad and Caillou find a scruffy dog that appears to be lost they bring it home. The whole family pitches in and tries to find the owner by posting signs around the neighborhood. But when the owner arrives, Caillou doesnt want to let the dog go. Caillou and his family pay a visit to Santa and go Christmas tree shopping all in the same day. By the time they get to the tree vendor after a long wait for Santa, all the trees are gone. Caillou was looking forward to trimming the tree so together they decide to decorate a tree in their own back yard!\r

Partridges are medium-sized non-migratory gamebirds, with a wide native distribution throughout the Old World, including Europe, Asia, and parts of Africa. They are sometimes grouped in the Perdicinae subfamily of the Phasianidae (pheasants, quail, etc.). However, molecular research suggests that partridges are not a distinct taxon within the family Phasianidae, but that some species are closer to the pheasants, while others are closer to the junglefowls.\r

These are medium-sized birds, intermediate between the larger pheasants and the smaller quails. Partridges are native to the grassy steppes of Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Nowadays they are often found nesting on agricultural land. They nest on the ground and have a diet consisting of seeds and insects. Species such as the grey partridge and the red-legged partridge are popular as game birds, and are often reared in captivity and released for the purpose of hunting. For the same reason, they have been introduced into large areas of North America.\r

According to Greek legend, the first partridge appeared when Daedalus threw his nephew, Perdix, off the sacred hill of Athena in a fit of jealous rage. Supposedly mindful of his fall, the bird does not build its nest in the trees, nor take lofty flights and avoids high places.\r
\r
The most famous reference to the partridge is in the Christmas carol, The Twelve Days of Christmas. The first gift listed is a partridge in a pear tree, and these words end each verse. Since partridges are unlikely to be seen in pear-trees (they are ground-nesting birds) it has been suggested that the text in a pear tree is a corruption of the French une perdrix.\r

The partridge has also been used as a symbol that represents Kurdish nationalism. It is called Kew. Sherko Kurmanj discusses the paradox of symbols in Iraq as an attempt to make a distinction between the Kurds and the Arabs. He says that while Iraqis generally regards the palm tree, falcon, and sword as their national symbols, the Kurds consider the Oak, Partridge, and dagger as theirs.\r

I used my usual icing recipe for this project\r

Royal icing recipe: \r

I did not use the usual mirror glaze due to the f that it doesnt dry completely to allow stacking & packaging the cookies. The royal icing does not give that same reflective finish but it does dry completely to the touch.\r
\r
I cut my cookie using saran wrap to remove the sharp edge around the perimeter.\r

14. The Spitting Cobras\r
These types of snakes are ually made up of several different species. Their name is a dead giveaway for what these guys can do. Their most effective defense mechanism is the ability to spit their venom into the eyes of whatever it targets. Their aim is scary-accurate but they can only try to guess their preys movement, which can lead to a missed shot.\r

This is officially the worlds most slender snake. They grow to about an average width of just 2cm thick and you can see why theyre called the ribbon snake. On top of being extremely venomous, they also happen to be one of the worlds fastest striking reptiles. \r

Dont be fooled. I know this looks like a worm and all but its ually a snake. This snake doesnt have any eyes, which is how it got its name, the blind snake. They mostly live underground and scavenge for different types of bugs and larvae. It is mildly venomous so make sure you do a double take and dont pick up one of these guys by mistake.\r

The Madagascar leaf-nosed snake isnt the biggest snake in the world, but it definitely is one of the most unusual looking snakes. They happen to be thought of as one of the calmest snakes and arent prone to biting unless theyre provoked or feel threatened.\r

10. California Red-Sided Garter Snake\r
Look at this snake. Look at how majestic it looks. It looks like someone painted it with glow in the dark paint that they use for raves. This is the type of color combinations you see on acid trips, so Im told. But the California red-sided snake isnt one to worry about since they need to “chew” their prey to deliver their venom, which isnt life- threatening to humans.\r

This snake happens to be one of the larger snakes on this list. When fully grown, the adults can come out to be around 6 ft in length and are ually non-venomous. Fun f, these guys arent this emerald color when theyre babies because when theyre born theyre either red or yellow and turn green once they reach adulthood. \r

This snake is not one to be taken lightly and dont get distred by its blue skin. The Blue Racer absolutely hates any type of disturbance so stay away from them or theyll chase after you. In which case I hope youre a fast runner because these guys have been known to slither up to 8-10mph! \r

The flying tree snake is a golden color and is found in South and Southeast Asia. It happens to be incredibly thin which helps it to fly. Although, it doesnt ually “fly” fly but rather it glides through the air by flinging its body from treetops.\r

This species of snake is found underground in parts of Africa. Their most interesting trait is their flexible and venomous fangs. When a burrowing asp gets ready to strike, it elongates its fangs from its mouth, and it can even do it when its mouth is closed \r

When sea snakes are hunting, they do it by looking for their next potential meal in small places such as cracks and crevasses. But while theyre doing this they have to manage to keep an eye out for hungry predators. This species is often found in Eastern Asia. Asia has a lot of snakes…. They usually feed on poisonous frogs since theyre immune to their poison. Whats ually pretty cool is that the keelback steals the frogs poison and stores it in these special neck glands to use later on any predator that tries to eat it. \r

Travel Planet - Bodas Masái, Kenia (Kenya Masai's Wedding )
Africa, with its many nations and tribes, is very rich in different wedding traditions. An old African proverb says, "A man without a wife is like a vase without flowers."
The Ndebele people live in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Mother-in-law of the Ndebele bride makes her a "jocolo". The Jocolo is a five-paneled, beaded goatskin apron. During ceremonies this apron is worn by all married women.
The Shona people live in Zimbabwe and southern Mozambique. Dowry or "roora" is a regular part of their weddings. It is paid to the bride's family as a sign of respect. The bride decides when she will go to her groom. She can arrive at night with her female cousins escorting her. She arrives during the day when she wants to surprise her future husband. She then wears white from head to toe. It is believed that by doing so nobody can see her.
As soon as members of groom's family notice her they start dancing and ululating. The groom's family begins preparations for a party. It takes some time, so the bride is encouraged to keep walking through the village. People are very happy as her arrival and giving birth to babies is going to enlarge their community.
The procession ends when the mother-in-law escorts the bride to her new home. There the bride gets presents and is being pleaded to remove her veil. It is a sign for the party to begin. Such parties last all through the night.
The Yoruba people live in Nigeria and some other parts of Western Africa. Out of Africa Yoruba communities exist in Brazil, the USA, Jamaica, Haiti etc. One of the ceremonies held at the Yoruba weddings is tasting. In this ceremony the bride and groom taste for example peppercorns for bitterness, honey for happiness and dried fish for nourishment.
Egyptian weddings are often arranged. At the engagement part a groom-to-be gives his bride-to-be a money known as Mahr. This money is used to buy jewelery called Shabka and furniture. The groom gives her a ring which she wears on her right hand. Before the wedding henna tattoos are applied on bride's feet and hands.
The wedding starts with the performance of Zaffa music which involves traditional bendir drums, bagpipes, horns etc. The wedding ceremony is performed in mosque or church.
At the wedding feast the happy couple sits on Kosha chairs raised on a platform. Kofta meatballs and rose water drink called Sharpat are just two delicacies served at the wedding meal. In Egypt women pinch the bride on her wedding day. It means good luck.
Father blesses his daughter
At the wedding ceremony held by the Masai (Maasai) nation of Kenya the father of the bride blesses her by spitting on her head and breasts. Then she leaves with her husband. While walking to her new home she never looks back as she believes that she will turn to stone.
Henna tattoos being applied
Swahilli nation of Kenya bathe bride in sandalwood oils and apply henna tattoos on her limbs. Somo or a woman elder instructs the bride how to satisfy her husband. The somo sometimes hides under the bed in case some unexpected problems appear.
Semi-nomadic Samburu nation lives in Kenya too. For the Samburu people presents prepared by groom (two goatskins, two copper earrings, a milk container, a sheep) are especially important.
Polygamous marriages are common in the Wodabee nation of Niger. Marriages called „coogal“ are arranged by parents during couple's infancy. There are also marriages as result of love. Such marriages are called „teegal“.
Groom's family offers a price to the bride's family. If it is excepted the bride and groom are married. A bride lives with her husband until her pregnancy. Then she returns to her mother's home, where she will remain for the next three to four years.
With the birth of a baby the woman becomes a boofeydo or "someone who has made an error." Being a boofeydo means that she can not see or speak with her husband. The husband can not express any interest in her or the baby.
After two to three years, the woman will be able to visit her husband, but not live with him. Finally, when the woman's mother buys everything that is needed for bride's home, she and the baby return to the husband.
Between 1000 and 1500 Karo (Kara) people live on the east banks of the Omo River in south Ethiopia. To enhance the beauty of the Karo bride her abdomen is tattooed with different symbols. 5 - Sphynx \r
This creepy looking nearly hairless breed of cat was developed through selective breeding which began in the 1960s, for real, we made these demonic-looking kitties on purpose. These bizarre looking cats have fine, almost silky feeling skin due to their incredibly short soft fur which is so minuscule in size it is almost invisible to the naked human eye. It is possible for these strange felines to grow whiskers and eyebrows but they very rarely do. These little less than adorable kitties, though some find them absolutely enchanting, are best known for features such as wedge-shaped heads, prominent cheekbones, large bulging eyeballs, muscular necks, pot bellies, paw pads and whiplike tails. You know, these creepy extroverted intelligent prune-looking kitties are starting to grow on me.\r

4 - Pixie-Bob \r
This next breed of kitty is known for growing quite large by domestic standards sometimes weighing 11 pounds or more and appear, you guessed it, nearly exly like a miniature bobcat. Bred from exotic looking stray and wild cats, these strange felines rarely meow, instead, they communicate with cute squeaky chirping sounds. Known for their intelligent nature, these kitties are ideal for training to walk on leashes and to play fetch, they can most commonly be found trailing after their owners like little obedient shadows. These smart kitties are said to be capable of understanding some human words and commands. Like the North American Bobcat, these adorable mounds of fuzz have black fur and skin on the bottom of their paws, tipped ears, stubby tails, black lips, white fur surrounding their black eye skin, white furry chins, and their spotted fur patterns have reddish tones sometimes mixed in. \r

3 - Japanese Bobtail\r
These kitties are old, having shown up some 1,000 years ago in their native land of Japan. These street cats played an important role in their nations history as hunters against Japans pest problem, mainly the silkworm population and of course rats with all of their malignant diseases. The defining chareristic for these adorable cats are their puffy tails which resembles rabbits, some even hop due to their long back legs, their primary color of coats is calico. Some of these felines have two eye colors, most commonly blue and amber. These cats are famed, appearing in many legends and folklore, the manga charer Hello Kitty is said to resemble a Japanese Bobtail, as well as the Muta from film, The Cat Returns, who is based on a Bobtail who repeatedly visit the Ghibli studio, theres even a Bobtail in Disneys Big Hero 6, Mochi. The legend goes that a man who owned one of these kitties was sitting under a tree when he noticed his cat beckoning to him with its paw, he rose and started toward the direction of his cat, when a branch fell right where he had been sitting, it would have crushed him dead if not for the warning of his inviting cat. From this story, the Japanese Bobtail has earned the nickname of Lucky Cat, Beckoning Cat and Inviting Cat and is now a popular token of good luck which can be found in nearly every gift shop in Japan and lining every shelf of most Chinatowns round the world. \r

2 - Khao Manee\r
Which roughly translated means White Gem, but more commonly known as the Diamond Eye Cat. These striking felines hail from Thailand and are a very rare breed, each of these strange yet beautiful kitties have blue or golden colored eyes and sometimes, if youre lucky, one of each. These cats have a coat that looks like solid white snow and holds the title of the most expensive breed of cat in the entire world. These peculiar yet striking felines have an ancestry dating back hundreds of years. These kitties are also known for being muscular, athletic, ive, communicative and extremely intelligent. Just look at those eyes! I cant look away, too cute! \r

Its the new cat on the block, this strange but extremely precocious and cute breed of kitty was first recognised by the International Cat Association in 2001. These hybrids were conceived after cross breeding domestic cats with several medium-sized, large-eared wild African cats. These lovable felines are known to be extremely social and very loyal, their loyalty has even been compared to several breeds of dogs. These kitties are tall and slender in build and usually weigh around 8 to 20 pounds and as you can clearly see, their coats have an amazingly cute speckled pattern of adorable spots which resemble that of a cheetah. Hello and welcome to Lego Loft. Im stacks and today weve been to the LEGO Store to buy some more Lego! Weve had another trip to the LEGO Store and weve picked up not one, not two, not three but four pick a brick cups and weve also got a build a minifigure pack and one of these pirate sets, thats our second one. In 1. So this is Pipers first cup. Ill get these pieces out, lets see what hes got. Stay on the table, please stay on the table Lego. Right, I instructed piper to get me plenty of roof slopes cause I like building roofs out of roof slopes. We only got them in 2 by 4, theres no smaller ones or corner pieces which is a bit annoying. I want more variety, come on Lego Store. Weve got them in red and black. I saw these green bricks and I like this green colour. I though Im going to build a green wall, I said Piper, get me some of them green pieces He got 4. Thats going to be a really small wall. We go some of these tail fins for planes. He got trans yellow studs and 1 by 1 trans clear plates. Lets get it in the box. Tidy up. I hope all you kids at home tidy your Lego when youre finished playing with it, that means you should never tidy it because you should never finish playing with it. You should always play with your Lego, I do. In 2. This is my selection of Lego elements. Ive got some green plates. What else? I see some yellow jumpers. I can see some big bricky bits, light blue 2 by 4 bricks. Also white orange and red. We got 1 by 4 brown brick. 2 by 2 tan and orange tiles. Plates here, 2 by 8 plate. 1 by 8 tile in red. White grate bits, theyre Gr-r-reat. Number 3. Pipers second lot of Lego. This one looks like its gonna be messy. Orange tiles again. Its going everywhere, careful! Stay put Lego. Dont roll off the table. These cylinder pieces have a mind of their own. Are you staying still? Okay, theyre staying still, lets do it. Weve got these white fence pieces. Loads of studs. And finally. This is the last pick a brick cup of the day. Its got some sticky tape, get off of my fingers. Lets open it up. Weve got some 1 by 4 white arch pieces, but thats not all. Nice selection. White doors in frames. Flowers, white, red and pink and green stems. Im obsessed with 2 by 2 by 2 light grey slopes. More tan tile and 1 by 2 purple tiles. Green bumper pieces and 2 by 1 curved slopes. And wheel pieces. Did you know That LEGO are the worlds largest manufurer of tyres, thats crazy but awesome. Got some of these windscreen (windshield) pieces for cars. weve got a crate and inside Ive put some ruby red gemstones. Green headlight bricks and trans orange cheese slopes. This is all of the pick a brick haul. That is tons of Lego, fifty pounds worth. we only got 2 minifigures even though its a 3 pack. We were very naughty and stuffed loads of extra accessories in there hoping wed get away with it. We did get away with it I dont think they wanted to complain since we spent a lot of money. A top hat, some blue plates, stuck together heads. We wanted more faces. Weve got some seagulls, blond hair. A printed piece, I dont know what it is but I like printed pieces so I got it. A scorpion, frying pan, a long bone. Weve got a gold piece which is in the form of a crystal. We got goggles.
