An artificial system that copies or simulates the act of flying an aircraft in a realistic manner is a airplane simulator. A flight simulator is available from a computer game to actual cockpit replica placed on a hydraulic actuator, controlled by sophisticated computer technology. Use of airplane simulator in the aviation industry is varied -- from training pilots and flight crew to design and development in civil and military aircraft. Aerospace manufacturers also use the engineering flight simulators to develop and test flight hardware, software and aircraft systems.
Mainly a airplane simulator is used for training of pilots. The Part Task Trainers (PPT) is for the beginner covering one or more aircraft systems and the Cockpit Procedures Trainers (CPT) is meant for practicing drills and checks. The advanced Full Flight Simulators (FFS) with motion platforms have the ability to move in all six degrees-of-freedom (6-DoF) combined with visual system to view the outside world. These high-end airplane simulator have a Control Loading System to give a feel of real forces on pilot controls to trainee pilots.
An advanced airplane simulator also provides a pilot the experience of three rotations and three linear movements. Training for normal and emergency operating procedures such as engine failures and aircraft system malfunction like flight instruments, hydraulics, electrics, pressurization, etc. can be availed in a airplane simulator.
Flight simulator software was the harbinger of programs developed for computer game technologies. Each game was mostly based on the real world, striving for realism to reach a wider audience. The games can be used for basic flight training apart from leisure time engagement. Lets make a Mini Robot

I have seen plenty of these on YouTube and wanted to make my own. KipKay does a good one and this is virtually a straight copy, the main difference is that I use salvaged parts from an old remote control, an old mouse, and a couple of cheap toothbrushes.\r
I did find that the batteries need to be good ones as both motors run off the same single AA battery when going forward or backwards and with the cheap motors I used this quickly drains cheap batteries.\r
The switches take quite a lot of abuse so you make prefer to bolt them in place rather than use hot glue. I have noticed mine are beginning to split apart so I will probably bolt them down.\r

2 small electric motors - 1.5 volts ideally\r
1 flat strip of metal to mount the motors\r
2 SPDT switches (Single pole, double throw)\r

or if you can wait order them cheap from eBay\r

Office M&M Dispenser Maze - Short Version

Peanut M&M Dispenser Maze

Compared to the longer version, I have removed some repeated scenes and eliminated the future outlook section in favor of brevity. The video provides shorter overview of my M&M dispenser project, which was made to compete with other candy dispensers around our office (M&M, mint, and jellybeans). My goal was to make a dispenser that was somewhat more entertaining than reaching into a jar, but also reduces the large M&M flux caused by greedy handfuls.

The dispenser maze requires the prospect candy-eater to tilt the maze table and guide the M&M through the sequence to the Win Bucket. There are a number of open wall segments on the maze, beyond which lie the fail ramps that roll the M&M down to the fail bucket. While the M&Ms are still accessible in the fail bucket, candy-eaters must face public scorn and shunning from colleagues if they eat from there.

The maze is made up mostly of thin plywood glued together. The actual M&M dispenser is commercially available, with the only necessary modification being the servo-actuated arm.

Control of the maze is provided by a hand-held controller, which uses 8-bit Nintendo POWER/RESET buttons for M&M dropping, and an analog Playstation joystick for table tilting. An ATTiny 861 microcontroller reads the analog position of the joystick and generates PWM commands to drive the pitch and roll tilt servos, which are connected to the table and provide roughly +/- 10 deg tilt angle.

The maze is similar to the board game "Labyrinth".

The longer version of the video ends with a brief discussion of ongoing efforts, which could include:
