After making headlines for assaulting former fiance Gary Shirley and alleged underage drinking, 'Teen Mom' star Amber Portwood is back in the spotlight.

Both Star and In Touch are reporting that the troubled 20-year-old is pregnant with her second child.

Portwood, who recently regained custody of her 2-year-old daughter, Leah, reportedly discovered that she was pregnant just over a week ago, but is uncertain who the father might be.

Marriage is usually initiated by a proposal of marriage, simply called "a proposal". In a heterosexual relationship, the man traditionally proposes to the woman and the actual proposal often has a ritual quality, involving the presentation of a ring (an engagement ring) and the formalized asking of a question such as "Will you marry me?" The man may even go down on one knee before proposing. If the proposal is accepted, the couple become engaged.

In the United Kingdom, the engagement ring is worn, by the woman, on the third finger of the left hand (the ring finger).

In the UK the 29th of February (in a leap year) is said to be the one day (coming round only once every four years) when a woman can propose to her partner.

It is usual for a couple to be engaged for a while before they get married. An engagement is actually an agreement or promise to marry, and also refers to the time between proposal and marriage. During this period, a couple is said to be affianced, engaged to be married, or simply engaged.

A man who is engaged to be married is called his partner's fiancé; a woman similarly engaged is called her partner's fiancée.

Once a wedding date has been set the banns of marriage, commonly known simply as "the banns" (from an Old English word meaning "to summon") are announced. This is a notice, usually placed in the local parish church or registery office, which tells everyone that a marriage is going to take place between two people.

The purpose of banns is to enable anyone to raise any legal problems as to why the two people shouldn't get married, basically it is to prevent marriages that are legally invalid. Impediments vary between legal jurisdictions, but would normally include a pre-existing marriage (having been neither dissolved nor annulled), a vow of celibacy, lack of consent, or the couple's being related within the prohibited degrees of kinship.

In England, a marriage is only legally valid if the reading of the banns has taken place or a marriage licence has been obtained.

THE PEOPLE

In addition to the bride and groom, traditional weddings involve a lot more people. Typically, these positions are filled by close friends of the bride and groom; being asked to serve in these capacities is seen as a great honour.

For the couple:-

Ringbearer - an attendant, often a young boy, who carries the wedding rings.
Ushers - helpers, usually men, who assist with the organization.

For the groom:-

Best man - a close male friend or relative of the groom, given a place of honour.
Groomsmen - one or more male attendants who support the groom.

For the bride:-

Maid of honour - a close female friend or relative of the bride, given a place of honour. If she is married, she is called the "matron of honour" instead.
Bridesmaids - one or more female attendants who support the bride.
Father of the Bride - One who symbolically "gives away" the bride

Chips biométricos para conectarse a los dispositivos electrónicos

¿Como proteger contra el pirateo informático los 50 mil millones de dispositivos electrónicos que según alguas previsiones estarán conectados a internet hacia el año 2020?

La respuesta la tienen unos científicos holandeses que acaban de ganar el Premio Radar de Innovación 2016.

Los investigadores de Intrinsic-ID tienen una misión. Quieren protegerle a usted y a su negocio del pirateo informático.

Y tienen un plan.

Su objetivo es introducir chips en cada dispositivo electrónico conectado a internet… con un único identificador.

“Estamos trabajando en un dispositivo tecnológico similar al de la toma de huellas dactilares. Es parecido a la huella dactilar humana, biométrica humana. Así, somos capaces de identificar de manera única cada dispositivo individual. Necesitamos esta tecnología porque cada día se conectan a internet más y más dispositivos. Muy pronto habrá 50 mil millones de dispositivos que estarán conectados al internet de las cosas “, explica Vincent Der Leest, director de desarrollo de negocio de Intrinsic-ID.

Estos identificadores biométricos han sido diseñados de forma que no puedan ser duplicados, clonados o predecidos.

Y para asegurar su fiabilidad se están sometiendo a complejas pruebas ambientales, como la exposición a temperatura y tensión extremas.

“Estos tests son muy importantes para nosotros porque tenemos que asegurarnos de que nuestra tecnología funciona en las instalaciones de nuestros clientes”, continúa Vincent Van Der Leest.

“Tanto si utilizan nuestra tecnología a temperaturas bajo cero como si la usan en el desierto, nuestra tecnología dactilar siempre debería funcionar. Debería ser fiable siempre”, puntualiza.

Y fue en Bratislava, la capital de Eslovaquia, donde todo este esfuerzo de investigación fue parcialmente reconocido

El jurado reconoció los esfuerzos de la compañía por combinar una investigación innovadora con una buena adaptación al mercado.

Michaela Jacova, de Neulogy Ventures y miembro del jurado cuenta que “normalmente distinguimos entre un simple invento y una innovación en el momento de la ‘comercialización’. Esto es básicamente cuando un invento o una buena idea hace dinero… cuando crea una especie de atracción en el mercado y es validado por los usuarios, clientes, compañías… que están dispuestos a comprarlo. Cuando (una buena idea) en realidad hace que la economía sea más eficaz y eficiente
