Endesa dinamita la era de los combustibles fósiles con la voladura de la chimenea de Carboneras

Endesa ha procedido hoy a la voladura de la chimenea y de una de las estructuras metálicas de soporte de los conductos del absorbedor del Grupo 2 de la Central Térmica Litoral de Carboneras (Almería), un paso más en el proceso de desmantelamiento de la instalación que culminará en 2025.

La voladura ha supuesto todo un reto a nivel técnico debido a las características de ambas infraestructuras. La chimenea de cemento armado de la central térmica, de 200 metros de altura y un diámetro en base de 19,5 metros que se estrecha hasta los 12 metros de la punta, ha requerido el uso de 151 kilos de explosivos. Se han colocado por primera vez a doble altura: a cota cero y 96 metros. El objetivo de esta medida ha sido doblar el fuste en dos, como si de una bisagra se tratara, de forma que la huella de caída se redujera a la mitad, minimizando la afección a determinadas infraestructuras que era necesario mantener en servicio mientras se realizan los trabajos de desmantelamiento.

Para esta demolición se han utilizado 380 detonadores electrónicos que han activado la carga de explosivo que se han colocado en la estructura mediante taladros distribuidos para dirigir la caída en la dirección planificada. En el proyecto se ha fijado un radio de seguridad de 400 metros.
