  • Three Letter Blending Short Vowel E Words, Pre-Readers, Beginning Readers Phonics Lesson

    | This video teaches your child how to blend 3 letters together to read Short Vowel E 3 letter words. \r
This video shows your child to use both letter sounds and word families to help him/her blend 3 letters together to read words.\r

  • Top 10 WEAPONS and Weapon Systems That FLOPPED

On May 15, 1718, Mr. Puckle patented what could be considered the first machine gun. With “innovative” ideas like a version with square bullets, it was a military and financial flop. This happens, weapons that seem like a good idea that real life proves are not so good. Here are 10 examples of such failures. \r

    AZ Learn \r
    Alphabet\r
    \r
    \r
    \r
The difficulty of being a parent or a teacher is not teaching a child how to read and write, but ensuring that a moment of curiosity and effort turns into fun and love for reading.\r
The teaching method used in the game we propose to learn how to read and write is inspired by the phonic-syllabic method: each word is built by the child dragging some funny and crazy animated letters!\r
    \r
    FEATURES AND OBJECTIVES \r
    - more than 50 words;\r
    - engaging and fun animations\r
    - recognition and memorization of the alphabet\r
    - organization and management of the space on the sheet/tablet, for the alignment of letters, to learn and memorize details of language phonemes (eg. the gn, gl, cu, qu, sc sounds), for correct spelling.\r
    \r
    OTHER INFO\r
    The game can be used:\r
    - as a game for children aged four-eight, either with an adult or on their own;\r
    - as a teaching aid in preschool and early primary school age;\r
    - as a rehabilitation tool for children with specific disorders in reading or writing or in case of learning difficulties\r

  • Little Red Riding Hood by Nosy Crow

Nosy Crow has once again transformed a beloved fairytale into an instantly classic iPad app.\r
    \r
Dressed in a red hoodie and rain boots, Little Red Riding Hood stars in this modern, cozy telling of her trip through the woods to see her ailing grandmother. Soothing strings and flute notes accompany the app, and Nosy Crow works with perfect voice ors who endow each charer with gentle attentiveness. Charers, with the exception of the Big Bad Wolf, are always polite to each other, and they acknowledge readers with questions and observations on every page.\r
    \r
Small interive flourishes give little ones an ive role in the story. At any point, readers can use a two finger swipe to move around the scene, or they can use a pinching gesture to zoom in or out. When packing a basket for grandma, children can move Little Red Riding Hood and her mother around the kitchen in order to find more food to pack. There is even an element of choose-your-own-adventure fun. As children guide Red Riding Hood through the woods, they reach forked paths at which they can choose which way to go. One road might lead to a field where children can pick flowers for Grandma, another toward a bird whose feathers are to be gathered. In the apps finale, Red Riding uses the objects shes collected to thwart the wolf. It turns out the wolf is allergic to flowers, for example. Children will want to replay the app and see what happens when they choose different paths. During a second reading of the app, be sure to look for hidden extras. In one scene, children can see their own face reflected in a clear pond in the app.\r
    \r
Though you might know how the story ends, you and your children will still enjoy seeing Little Red Riding retold by Nosy Crow.

  • Vowel u - Long and Short Sounds | by Phonics Stories™

Mrs. Smarty invites the last of the five vowels in thisof Phonics Stories. The letter u reveals why she makes her long and short sounds. Subscribe for more stories!\r
    \r
There are five vowels within the 26 letters of the English language. These vowels are a, e, i, o, and u. Vowels are tricky for kids to learn because their sounds frequently change, and sometimes vowels dont make a sound at all. In Phonics Stories, learning the vowels long and short sounds becomes easy! Each vowel has a unique story kids can relate to.\r
    \r
    Welcome to Phonics Stories!\r
    \r
Phonics Stories is aof puppet shows that explain why the letters make their sounds. \r
    \r
These stories help developing readers form a lasting connection with the alphabet. Each letter in Phonics Stories has its own personality that kids can relate to and identify with. Having a personal connection with the letters not only helps children learn more quickly, but they will find more joy and confidence in reading and writing. \r
    \r
Through Phonics Stories, children painlessly learn about digraphs, long vowels, short vowels, diphthongs, blends, silent letters, and more. \r
    \r
Children love stories, and Phonics Stories teaches kids about letters by coming from a place they can understand. Children become engaged with stories about the types of things they are going through in their social life. Children like to be the line leader. They are annoyed by children who try to get in front of them in line. They understand a “show off” type of behavior. All of these emotions are included in Phonics Stories. Thus, children immediately identify with these feelings. This is them. This is their life. The letters of the alphabet become their friends and classmates who they like and also have difficulties with. The letters become real. Phonics Stories helps children make connections to letter sounds in a playful way. \r
    \r
The most effective way to teach is to meet learners right where they are and bring them forward. \r
    \r
When children make the transition between Kindergarten and First Grade, they feel disappointed because they thought they had learned the letter sounds. Soon, they discover that they have not really learned the letter sounds. For example, in Kindergarten they learned that the letter “c” makes the /c/ sound. They learned that “h” makes the /h/ sound. In first grade the tables are turned. Children learn about digraphs like “ch.” When “h” is next to “c” they make the /ch/ sound. If teachers can give them a reason for this or a story, it helps children so much. \r
    \r
There are so many exceptions to rules of the English language that children have to learn throughout elementary school and beyond. Phonics Stories helps children to remember these exceptions by giving them a story. When watching Phonics Stories, children may feel emotions ranging from happy, excited, silly, or even a little sad or mad. The most important thing is that the stories make them feel something, because the most effective learning comes through feeling. \r
    \r
Sit back with your child and watch them learn and re with Phonics Stories. You will be a witness to their understanding of phonics. A whole new world opens up when children learn to read and express themselves through writing. Phonics Stories simply hopes to give kids the confidence to enter that world with their head held high.\r
    \r
Thank you for viewing. We are continually looking to improve Phonics Stories with each video. Please feel free to leave a comment with any feedback, lesson suggestions, or reions!
