Turkish carpets laid out in fields as part of coloring process

Antalya, Turkey, Aug 10 (EFE), (Camera: Erdem Sahin).- Workers in southern Turkey were laying out handmade carpets in the sun on Friday as part of their coloring process.
Stunning drone imagery captured by an epa-efe journalist showed the roughly 30,000 elaborately-patterned rugs being rolled out onto sun-kissed fields owned by carpet-making companies in the Dosemealti district of Antalya.
The reason for laying the carpets out in this way was to soften their coloring towards more pastel shades.
Weaving carpets, which decorate the floors and walls of homes across the country, is a process that has traditionally been undertaken by women.
The items play an important part in Turkish cultural tradition.

Beijing Auto Show SUV popular with consumers

The Beijing International Automotive Exhibition is ongoing and sport utility vehicles or SUVs as they're more commonly known are proving popular with consumers.

Consumers have been streaming through the doors at the Beijing Auto Show to see what's new on the car market.

The SUV is one vehicle that has been attracting huge amounts of attention.

Whether it's the look or what's under the hood, some consumers have bought the massive vehicle on the spot. Signed, sealed, delivered.

Consumer: "I like SUVs because of the better view and more driving pleasure."

Salesman: "So many people are interested and a total of 4 to 5 thousand cars have been reserved."

Sales teams at the expo say the SUV'S advantages include large amounts of space, it's height off the ground and high-tech security. Some auto dealers have raised the price of some SUVs.

Consumer: "I want to buy a Tiguan but I am afraid I have to pay 40,000 yuan more to get it."

To meet demand from the fast growing market in China, auto makers including Audi, Benz, Volvo and BMW have brought their latest models to Beijing to put on show for consumers.

Meanwhile, Chinese domestic car makers such as Geely and Chery are also showing off their products at the low-end market.

Some high-tech gadgets on low-end SUVs are made by Chinese auto makers.

Shen Siyuan, Director, Anchi Xinda Technology Corp., said, "We supply the keyless start system to the domestic automakers to improve their competitiveness."

Statistics show: 269 thousand SUVs were sold in China in March. That's an increase of 160 percent compared to last year.

Louisiana Rep. gets emotional over spill

The Gulf oil disaster has provided a slew of indelible images: puddles of oil in the ocean, coated birds, blackened shoreline. But there have been few human faces that capture the enormity of the crisis, until now.

In a House subcommittee meeting on the spill, Louisiana Rep. Charlie Melancon, who represents much of the coastal area being directly affected by the spill, broke down in tears while delivering his remarks.

"I'd like to remind my collegues ... that the recovery phase is just as critical as the response phase," he read. "Everything that I know and love is at risk."

His lip quivering as he tried to maintain his composure, Melancon was unable to finish his statement. He submitted it for the record and walked out of the hearing.

How to Change Your Name in New Hampshire

The New Hampshire name change for an adult as described in the State Code is done by filing a petition to the county's civil court where you are a resident. It is easier, if you were just married, to have your certified marriage license with the raised seal or if you were recently divorced to have your divorce decree. Typically, you will not have a court hearing in New Hampshire but it depends on the circumstances of the name change.

REQUIREMENTS
Must be a resident for at least 6 months
If just married, must have your original marriage certificate.
If just divorced, must have your divorce decree.
Step 1 - Get the New Hampshire Notice of Petition and completely fill it in but do not sign.

Step 2 - Sign your forms in front of a notary public. You can find one at every branch bank in the United States.

Step 3 - Mail or hand-deliver your forms to the court where you reside and pay the $90 filing fee.

Step 4 - You will be instructed to publish your new name in the newspaper to run as instructed by the clerk as every county is different. The newspaper will send the clerk a 'Notice of Publication' once it has been fulfilled.

Step 5 - If no one objects to your new name, a hearing will not be scheduled, and you will be able to receive the New Hampshire Name Change Decree which is the official certificate that announces your new name. Use this at any public or private institution.

Prepper Food Storage Organization - Maximizing and Stabilizing my Storage Space (Before and After)

Before and After videos included :) Today I tackled one shelving unit in my prepper pantry full of medium and long term food storage, Go Foods survival foods and some regular food. I do this periodically throughout the year to keep on top of what my current supplies are and to make sure that everything is fresh and nothing has been breached by bugs or any vacuusealed foods have opened. I went vertical using storage cubes to increasew the amount of stroage room plus increase the shelfs stability up high.I currently prep for 5 people and this is only a portion of my food storage shown here. Space is a commodity in this preppers life so I try to use every bit of it as wisely as possible.\r
I got these cubes at Target for $10 each. So far so good :) I would love to hear your thoughts on any ideas you may have to improve this process or please share tips that have worked for you :) \r
