Five dead, three missing after river overflows in Colombia

NASA's leak-prone Artemis moon rocket ready for another launch try

NASA's Space Launch System moon rocket, bedeviled by fuel leaks, unrelated glitches and finally by an approaching hurricane, headed back out to its launch pad late Thursday for another attempt to get the Artemis program's unpiloted and oft-delayed maiden flight underway. NASA's massive crawler-transporter, carrying the towering SLS rocket and its mobile launch platform, began easing its way out of the iconic Vehicle Assembly Building at 11:17 p.m. EDT. Once in place at the seaside firing stand, engineers will ready the booster for a middle-of-the-night launch attempt at 12:07 a.m. on November 14. Weather permitting, that is. A "non-tropical low pressure system" in the Caribbean could bring heavy rain and winds gusting up to 40 knots to the Kennedy Space Center next week, slowing launch processing. But mission managers said predicted worst-case conditions are well within the SLS rocket's ability to withstand them at the pad and the team has a day of contingency time left in the schedule

Peruvian Navy Deploys Dinghies to Reach Residents Stranded by Floodwaters

The Peruvian Navy pushed a dinghy across floodwaters to reach a group of people stranded in Piura, northwest Peru, on Tuesday, March 28.

People were visibly distressed, with one woman seen crying in this footage. A male voice could be heard saying: “Tranquilo,” or “calm down.”

A new round of flooding has hit northern Peruvian since Monday, after the Piura river burst its banks following a weekend of heavy rains. The flooding prompted the evacuation of more than 500 people, while hundreds more still awaited rescue. At least four people drowned.

More rain was expected to fall in the region on Wednesday.

Kunafa is like the Middle East version of a cheese danish and also an Arabic dish, prepared for the month of Ramadan. Its base is mild, stretchy white cheese-very like fresh mozzarella or paneer-with sweet sugar-based syrup and rich topping.\r

INGREDIENTS:\r

Corn flour ½ tsp\r
Milk 100 ml\r
Sugar 1 cup\r
Water As required \r
Rose water 1 tbs\r
Raisins 10 nos\r
Cashew nuts(chopped) 10 nos\r
Almonds(chopped) 10 nos, \r
Seviya 2 cups\r
Butter 2 tsp\r
Ghee 2 tsp\r
Pistachios(finely chopped) 1 tsp\r
\r
METHOD:\r
\r
1. Boil milk with corn flour in a pan and cook for 2-3 min so that it forms slight thick mixture.\r
\r
2. Boil sugar with little water in a pan to make like a gulab jamun syrup, at last add rose water boil it for 1 min and switch off flame.\r
\r
3. In a bowl add raisins, cashew nuts, almond, seviya, butter and slightly crush it.\r
\r
4. Add ghee and mix it.\r
\r
5. Take a baking tray and place one layer of seviya pour some cornstarch milk mixture, add second layer of seviya, pour some cornstarch milk mixture, add last layer of seviya and press it with hand.\r
\r
6. Bake at 180 degree for 15 mins until it slightly golden in colour.\r
\r
7. Loosen edges with knife and demould into a plate.\r
\r
8. Pour sugar syrup on its top and garnish with pistachios.\r
\r
9. Now kunafa is ready to serve.

Christie's exhibits 163.41 carat flawless diamond to be auctioned next month

London, Oct 3 (EFE), (Camera: Andy Rain).- Christie's on Tuesday presented a 163.41 carat flawless emerald-cut diamond, calling it the largest precious stone of its kind to ever go to auction.
An epa photojournalist caught a glimpse of the brilliant jewel, suspended from a necklace, which was set to be auctioned off in Switzerland on Nov. 14 as part of Christie's Magnificent Jewels.
The stone originated from a 404.20 carat rough white diamond found in eastern Angola last year - the largest ever found in the African country.
Tests at New York's Gemological Institute of America determined that the stone was a D-color, Type IIA diamond.
It took a team of more than 10 specialists in New York's diamond district months to transform the rough stone into the final polished gem before it traveled to Geneva, where GRISOGONO founder Fawaz Gruosi along with five specialists were tasked with designing a piece of jewelry with it.
The final asymmetric design features 18 emerald-cut diamonds on one side and allows the diamond to be detached from the necklace.

Siguiendo la serie de arroyos en el Parque Natural Montes de Málaga, esta vez es el turno del arroyo Chaperas. A pesar de la previsión de 0 % de probabilidad de lluvia para esta tarde, unas nubes grises y bajas se colaron y antes de darme cuenta llovía fuerte, así que tuve que volverme y no pude completar la ruta que había planeado. Da igual. Creo que esta es la vez en que he visto el arroyo más lleno de agua, así como los dos tributarios de este: el de Pocopán y el de Gutiérrez. La parte más difícil de esta ruta es bajar al arroyo donde están los diques, ya que no hay senda y la vegetación es densa.

Nevermind. I think this is the time I've seen this creek to its fullest, and also the two tributaries of the Chaperas ("Littlebread" creek and Gutiérrez creek). The hardest part of this route is to go down to the creek to the place where the dikes are as there's no path and the vegetation is thick.

After 24 hours, strain the mixture and pour the liquid into a pot. Add 2 cups of sugar into the pot and cook for about half an hour.\r

Once the mixture boils and gets thick enough, remove from heat and transfer the syrup into sterilized jars. Use the dandelion syrup to treat cold, cough, or bronchitis.\r

How to Bathe Your Newborn - Babys First Hospital Bath

How to keep a baby safe in a bath tub (sold on Amazon only $16.99: 2,500 reviews, 4.5 stars!!!)\r
Never leave your baby unsupervised, even for a minute. If the doorbell or phone rings and you feel you must answer it, scoop him up in a towel and take him with you.\r
Never put your baby into a tub when the water is still running. (The water can quickly get too deep or hot.)\r
Set your water heater to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. A child can get third-degree burns in less than a minute at 140 degrees. (I ually set mine at 100 degrees and therefore had no worry of overly HOT water)\r
Never leave your child unattended. (Yes, its so important we listed it twice). A child can drown in less than an inch of water—and in less than 60 seconds.\r
Step by step: How to bathe your baby\r
\r
Gather all your bath supplies (including mild soap, a washcloth, and a plastic cup), and lay out a towel, a clean diaper, and clothes. Make sure the room is comfortably warm so your baby doesnt get chilled.\r
\r
Fill the tub with about 3 inches of water that feels warm, but not hot, to the inside of your wrist—about 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) or a few degrees warmer.\r
\r
Bring your baby to the bath area and undress her completely. (TIP: If your baby cries through every bath, leave the diaper on at first. It can give her an increased sense of security in the water.)\r
\r
Gradually slip your baby into the tub feet first, using one hand to support her neck and head. Pour cupfuls of bath water over her regularly during the bath so she doesnt get too cold.\r
\r
Use mild soap and use it sparingly (too much dries out your babys skin). Wash her with your hand or a washcloth from top to bottom, front and back. Start by washing her scalp with a wet, soapy cloth. Rinse the soap from the cloth and use it to gently clean her eyes and face. If dried mucus has collected in the corners of your babys nostrils or eyes, dab it several times to soften it before you wipe it out. As for your babys genitals, a routine washing is all thats needed.\r
\r
Rinse your baby thoroughly with cupfuls of water, and wipe her with a clean washcloth. Then very carefully lift her out of the tub with one hand supporting her neck and head and the other hand supporting her bottom. Wrap your fingers around one thigh. (Babies are slippery when wet.) If its possible, have another adult help by receiving your baby in a dry towel.\r
\r
Wrap your baby in a hooded towel and pat her dry. If her skin is still peeling from birth, you can apply a mild baby lotion after her bath, but this is generally dead skin that needs to come off anyway, not dry skin. Then diaper her, dress her, and give her a kiss on her sweet-smelling head.\r

Los preservativos son una FORMA EFICAZ DE PROTECCIÓN frente al VIH y otras ITS siempre que se usen de forma correcta y sistemática en todas las relaciones sexuales con penetración (vaginal, anal u oral).
Estudios de laboratorio indican que los preservativos de látex constituyen una BARRERA FÍSICA EFECTIVA que impide el paso de microorganismos u otras partículas del tamaño del virus.
Protegen frente a la transmisión del VIH, otras infecciones de transmisión sexual y embarazos no deseados.
Las posibles roturas y deslizamientos del preservativo se deben más a fallos del usuario, que al producto en sí. Es importante respetar la fecha de caducidad, que esté homologado por la Comunidad Europea, no guardarlos en sitios que tengan temperaturas elevadas y vigilar no romperlo al abrir el envoltorio.
También existen preservativos de poliuretano para personas alérgicas al látex.
En el caso de usar lubricantes, deben ser siempre lubricantes de base acuosa. No se deben utilizar aceites grasos como lubricación (vaselina, cremas o lociones corporales).
Es importante seguir adecuadamente los pasos para una correcta utilización:
• Abrir el preservativo con cuidado de no dañarlo con uñas, anillos y dientes.
• Una vez abierto, antes de colocarlo, comprobar si el preservativo está al derecho o al revés (esto se puede hacer soplando un poco dentro del preservativo para ver hacia que lado lo tenemos que desenrollar).
• Colocar el preservativo sobre el pene en erección, antes de cualquier penetración vaginal, anal u oral.
• Presionar la punta del depósito del preservativo para expulsar el aire y dejar espacio para el semen. Si el preservativo no lleva depósito, éste debe hacerse al colocarlo, dejando un espacio libre de 1 a 2 cm. de largo en la punta del pene.
• Desenrollar el preservativo hasta cubrir completamente el pene.
• Usarlo durante toda la penetración.
• Es aconsejable lubricar el preservativo una vez puesto para facilitar la penetración. Muchos ya vienen con el lubricante incorporado, pero si no es suficiente se pueden comprar en las farmacias, teniendo en cuenta que sean solubles en agua, ya que los aceites pueden estropear el látex del preservativo.
• Después de eyacular, antes de que la erección disminuya, hay que retirar el pene sujetando el preservativo por la base.
• Comprobar que no se ha roto (llenándolo de agua o presionando el depósito), anudarlo y tirarlo a la basura, nunca al WC ni a la calle (hay que tener en cuenta que los preservativos no son biodegradables).
• Usar uno nuevo cada vez que se mantenga una relación sexual y si se cambia de práctica sexual (penetración vaginal, anal u oral).

Situaciones y causas de rotura de un preservativo Entre las posibles causas de rotura de un preservativo se destacan las siguientes:

- Aplicación de lubricantes oleosos.

- Daños provocado por las uñas u otros objetos afilados

- Inadecuado espacio o presencia de aire en la punta del condón

- Existencia de piercing en los genitales

- Desenrollar incorrectamente el preservativo

- Conservación inadecuada

- Reutilización del preservativo

- Caducidad del preservativo
¿Qué es el Preservativo Femenino?

El preservativo femenino es un método de protección alternativo al masculino, que protege frente a la transmisión del VIH, otras infecciones de transmisión sexual y embarazos no deseados y puede comprarse en algunas farmacias.

Generalmente es de poliuretano, por lo que no causa alergias ni irritación como puede sucedes con el láteх, y se puede emplear tanto con lubricantes solubles en agua o en aceite.

Consiste en una funda transparente con dos anillos flexibles uno en cada extremo. El interior permite la sujeción dentro de la vagina y el otro, de mayor diámetro, permanece en el exterior de la vagina cubriendo los genitales externos de la mujer.

Es más resistente que el preservativo masculino, es inodoro y viene ya lubricado. Su inserción no es difícil, lleva incorporada una gran cantidad de lubricante lo que facilita la colocación y el coito, se puede poner antes de iniciar el contacto sexual y no hace falta extraerlo inmediatamente después de la eyaculación.
