Kazakhstan repatriates 231 citizens, mostly children, from war-torn Syria

Nur-Sultan, May 10 (EFE).- Kazakhstan on Friday announced the return from Syria of 156 children, including several orphans, and dozens of Kazakh adults who had travelled to the war-torn Arab nation to support the Islamic State.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said 231 Kazakh citizens were "evacuated" from Syria on Tuesday and Thursday as part of the country's ongoing "Zhusan humanitarian operation."

United Nations, Aug 10 (EFE).- The United States will likely vote against renewing the United Nations observer mission in Syria that expires in ten days as violence in the Arab nation has not subsided, according to Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Astana-13 talks on Syria conflict end without concrete progress

Nur-Sultan, Aug 2 (EFE), (Camera: Kulpash Konyrova).- The thirteenth round of negotiations on the ceasefire in Syria conflict concluded Friday in the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, without concrete developments, although participants highlighted the progress in the formation process of the constitutional committee, one of the main topics of discussion.
In a joint statement published at the end of the Astana Process meeting, Russia, Iran and Turkey, the three guarantors of the ceasefire decreed in Syria in 2016, "expressed satisfaction with the progress made on finalization of the composition and the rules of procedure" of the body called on to write a new constitution for the Arab country.

Libyan rebel forces moved into Tripoli at the weekend, encountering surprisingly little resistance and capturing two of Colonel Gaddafi's sons.

There were celebrations all over Tripoli. The green flag of Gaddafi's regime has been replaced with the flag of the Libyan republic. Gaddafi remains in hiding.

But his forces are crumbling around him. Many are mercenaries who are unlikely to stick around. Some say he has already to fled Venezuela or South Africa.

Others say he'll stay and negotiate with the rebels, who are eager to avoid a bloodbath.

Once Gaddafi is gone, all eyes will fall on another dictatorship under pressure - Syria.

The National Television of Nemunas (Spanish: Televisión Nacional de Nemunas, Lithuanian: Nacionalinė Nemuno Televizija, Tamil: நெமுனாஸ் தேசிய தொலைக்காட்சி, romanization: Nemuṉās tēciya tolaikkāṭci, Telugu: నెమునాస్ నేషనల్ టెలివిజన్, romanization: Nemunās nēṣanal ṭelivijan, Kurdish: Televîzyona Neteweyî ya Nemunas) is first television station from the Republic of Nemunas, launched in August 2, 1952.
The television station was the only in the country until 1960, with the launch of the Channel 3 (Canal 3 in Spanish, 3 Kanalas in Lithuanian, சேனல் 3 in Tamil, ఛానెల్ 3 in Telugu and کەناڵی ٣ in Kurdish Sorani). At the time, TNN broadcasted programming in Spanish and Lithuanian, but in 1968, started to broadcast in Tamil, 1971 for Telugu and 1962 in Kurdish. By 1975, TNN started color telecasts in the PAL-N system, which were tested at the time.
