Break team from Queen Mary University of London and University of Seville during the 2016 Drop Your Thesis! programme launch campaign at the ZARM Drop Tower in Bremen, Germany.
The team focused their experiments on the process of colloidal liquids thinning and subsequent breaking, a phenomenon important in printing processes such as inkjet as well as some 3D printing technologies.
Understanding the physics behind liquid break up in the absence of gravity will eventually help scientists and engineers develop suitable technologies for Solar system exploration purposes, where using in situ resources will be key to manufacturing structures off the Earth.

What is emotion? Véronique Tran, Professor of Organizational Behavior at ESCP Europe
Veronique Tran is Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at ESCP Europe Paris Campus. She is a graduate of the University of Lausanne in Political Science. She earned her Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Geneva Switzerland with the Geneva Emotion Research Group directed by Prof. Klaus Scherer. She was a permanent faculty member at Team International where she acquired extensive experience in executive education and management development, with emphasis on interpersonal and organizational behavior topics. She is a visiting professor in Organizational Behavior at the University of Nova (Lisbon, Portugal).
Her primary research focus is to examine the interaction of emotions with decision-making processes in management teams. During her post-doctoral studies in the Industrial/Organizational area of the Department of Psychology at The Pennsylvania State University, she had the opportunity to research creativity and innovation processes and how they unfold across levels of organizations. Additional research interests include topics such as emotion in organizational contexts (e.g. emotional climate), team dynamics, and organizational learning.
Veronique Tran is member of the Academy of Management (AOM), the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), the American Psychology Association (APA), the International Society for Research on Emotion (ISRE), and EMONET Emotions in Organizational settings.Ver video "What is emotion? History about the discovery of Yerba Mate in Misiones 1969

Según científicos la Gran Pirámide de Guiza puede concentrar energía electromagnética en cámaras internas
ExoPlanetas.com Noticia: Aunque los medios de comunicación hacen referencia a científicos rusos de la Universidad ITMO de San Petersburgo, Rusia; en la investigación han participado también expertos alemanes del Laser Zentrum Hannover. El grupo de investigación internacional aplicó métodos de física teórica para estudiar la respuesta electromagnética de la estructura de la "Gran Pirámide" a las ondas de radio. Los científicos descubrieron que bajo condiciones de resonancia la forma de la pirámide puede concentrar energía electromagnética tanto en sus cámaras internas como en el área ubicada debajo de su base.
Pero los investigadores hicieron su estudio sobre un modelo ideal de la estructura de la gran pirámide, no con la pirámide auténtica. El grupo de investigación planea aplicar estos hallazgos para diseñar nanopartículas capaces de reproducir efectos similares en el rango óptico. Tales nanopartículas se pueden usar para desarrollar sensores y células solares altamente eficientes.
El estudio fue publicado en el Journal of Applied Physics.

En concreto tratamos de la biomecánica de la cabeza cuello y extremidades, de cual es la importancia funcional en la biomecánica de la cabeza, consideraciones anatómicas y funcionales de las extremidades y de cuales son las consecuencias de tener un cuello tenso respecto a la funcionalidad en general.

Estudiantes alemanes transforman un edificio en un Tetris gigante
YourVideoNews.com NOTICIA: Estudiantes del departamento de Ciencias de la Computación de la universidad de Kiel, en Alemania, han querido jugar a los clásicos video juegos ochenteros, como el Tetris; pero a lo muy, muy grande. Para ello han transformado todo un edificio en una máquina de vídeo juegos gigante utilizando 57.000 luces led de colores, distribuidas en las 392 ventanas del edificio.
Y para ponerlo en marcha han tenido que partir de cero desarrollando los prototipos para las luces y controladores; así como todo el software que permita jugar. Un esfuerzo tan enorme como el edificio que han logrado animar y hacernos a todos volver a los buenos momentos que nos hicieron pasar estos clásicos juegos.

Cerebro y memoria: Imaginando el futuro (amnesia)
La amnesia ocasionada por daños en la región cerebral del hipocampo puede afectar también a la capacidad de imaginarse el futuro, acaba de demostrar un estudio realizado en el Reino Unido. Un grupo de voluntarios enfermos de amnesia sometidos a una serie de pruebas fueron incapaces de imaginarse situaciones futuras, bastante corrientes, como el reencuentro con un amigo, en contraposición a otro grupo de voluntarios, que no padecían la enfermedad. Los resultados sugieren que el hipocampo, que se relaciona con la capacidad de memoria a largo plazo, tiene una función más amplia de lo que hasta ahora se creía. Las personas que sufren de amnesia encuentran también dificultades para imaginar el futuro, según ha descubierto un estudio británico realizado por científicos del Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging de la University College de Londres y del que se ha hecho eco la revista estadounidense Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences PNAS.
Los pacientes amnésicos son aquéllos que tienen un déficit bien definido en los recuerdos de sus experiencias pasadas. Pero, hasta ahora, la cuestión de si este tipo de pacientes podían imaginarse nuevas experiencias se ha analizado poco.
Los investigadores del centro mencionado, liderados por la neurocientífica cognitiva Eleanor Maguire, analizaron a un grupo de personas con daños de primer orden en el hipocampo, con el fin de averiguar si eran capaces de fabricar imágenes de experiencias nuevas a partir de pistas verbales referidas a una serie de escenarios comunes.Ver video "Cerebro y memoria: Imaginando el futuro (amnesia)"
