El Sepla pedirá formalmente que Iberia salga de la fusión con British Airways
Madrid, 13 noviembre (CERESTV.es / EFE)
El Sindicato Español de Pilotos de Líneas Aéreas (Sepla) pedirá de forma oficial la salida de Iberia de la fusión con British Airways porque es "la única forma de que sobreviva", según fuentes del sindicato tras la asamblea de pilotos celebrada ayer. Los pilotos de Iberia han expresado también su "rechazo total" al plan de reestructuración anunciado el pasado viernes por la matriz IAG y que contempla un recorte de 4.500 empleos, una reducción del 15 % en la capacidad de la aerolínea y una disminución de la flota en 25 aviones. Según Sepla, la salida de Iberia del holding con British Airways está contemplada en los propios acuerdos de fusión.

Desde 2004, unas 15.000 personas han participado en las clases sobre seguridad aérea que la compañía British Airways ofrece en la aeropuerto de Heathrow, en Londres.
En la clase los participantes aprenden a familiarizarse con una situación de emergencia.
“Empezamos con una evacuación, la gente debe pensar en ello, explica Andy Clubb, de British Airways. Lo que aprenden los participantes es a diseñar un plan gracias a este ejercicio. Lo más importante es cuando deben abandonar el avión lanzándose por el tobogán con los brazos cruzados. También aprenden a salir del avión abriendo las puertas de emergencia que se encuentran sobre las alas”.
Cada participante realiza los ejercicios de seguridad acompañado de un auxiliar de vuelo.
“Los pasajeros deben participar en la evacuación de emergencia para que tengan la oportunidad de, tranquilamente, pensar sobre ella, para que puedan hacernos preguntas y obtener respuestas. De repente, se dan cuenta, al final del ejercicio, de que incluso en la peor situación, siempre que deban participar en una evacuación, podrán mantener el control”, afirma Clubb.

La ministra de Empleo y Seguridad Social, Fátima Bañez, ha pedido hoy a Iberia y a los sindicatos que usen con "sensibilidad" la reforma laboral del Gobierno para evitar los despidos que ha planteado la compañía.
En rueda de prensa en Sevilla, la ministra ha insistido en que el "corazón" de la reforma laboral es la flexibilidad, que permite buscar caminos antes que despedir, y ha subrayado que "el despido debe ser el último recurso".
Ha puesto como ejemplo de flexibilidad a otras empresas que han presentado expedientes de regulación de empleo temporal basados en la reducción de jornada y la suspensión de contratos para evitar la extinción de la relación laboral. Man killed outside British school in Madrid after being shot at least 10 times
Madrid, Mar 12 (EFE).- A man was shot at least 10 times and killed on a road just outside the British Council School in Madrid on Monday by unknown assailants who fled immediately after the incident, regional emergency services said.
Sources close to the investigation told EFE that the victim, a 43-year-old, was in a car with a woman, who was described as being of Colombian nationality and his partner, after dropping one or more children off at a school in Pozuelo de Alarcón, an affluent suburb to the west of the Spanish capital, when he was attacked.
"We can confirm the death of a 43-year-old man in Pozuelo," the Madrid regional emergency services said on Twitter. "He has at least 10 gunshot wounds," the statement said.
An investigation was launched by the national police after witness evidence pointed to two men on a motorcycle who were believed to have been behind the shooting.
According to security sources, witnesses saw a man riding pillion on the back of the motorcycle fire multiple times at the victim before the pair rode off.
The victim was reportedly able to leave his car but died on the road almost immediately, while his partner was left unharmed.
Investigators are now establishing whether the witness testimonies can be confirmed and gathering evidence to determine what happened, EFE was told.

Russian, Chinese presidents agree on initiative to end Korean conflict
The Russian and Chinese foreign ministries released a statement in which they gave details on the plan, asking that North Korea voluntarily announce a moratorium on their nuclear and missile tests, the latest of which occurred earlier on Tuesday.
They also asked that the US and South Korea abandon their military maneuvers and expressed their rejection of the use of force, defending the importance of peaceful co-existence.
Moscow and Beijing expressed their profound concern over this latest test, which they said was an unacceptable act that went against United Nations Security Council resolutions.
They also insisted that the American anti-missile shield deployed in southeast Asia represented a huge blow to strategic security interests for countries in the region, including Russia and China.
The two countries said Pyongyang's concerns had to be respected and other countries had to make an effort to renew ties and jointly create an atmosphere of peace and mutual trust.
North Korea announced on Tuesday morning that it had launched its first intercontinental ballistic missile, which they claimed could reach the US, although Russia insisted that it was, in fact, medium-range and thus posed no threat to the North American country.

Years before the events of the first film, Lord Shen, the scion of a peacock clan that rules Gongmen City in ancient China, seeks to harness fireworks as a weapon. After discovering from the courts goat Soothsayer that a warrior of black-and-white will defeat him if he does not change his ways, Shen leads an army of wolves to exterminate the panda population to avert the prophecy. Shens parents are horrified at this atrocity and exile their son, who swears revenge.\r

In the present day, Po is living his dream as the Dragon Warrior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, the Furious Five. His teacher Shifu tells him, however, that he has yet to achieve inner peace. While defending a village from wolf bandits who have been stealing refined metal for Shen, Po is distred by a symbol on the wolf leaders armor, which causes Po to have a flashback of his mother and allows the wolves to escape. Po asks his goose father, Mr. Ping, about his origins. Ping reveals that he found Po as an infant in a radish crate and adopted him, but Po remains unsatisfied, wondering how and why he ended up in the Valley of Peace.\r

Shifu receives word that Shen has killed Thundering Rhino, the leader of the kung fu council protecting Gongmen City, and is plotting to destroy kung fu tradition and conquer China with his newly developed weapon, a cannon that fires weaponized fireworks. Po and the Furious Five set out to Gongmen City to stop Shen and destroy his weapon. They find the city occupied by Shens forces, with the two surviving council members Storming Ox and Croc imprisoned. The six heroes ask the council members for help to liberate the city, but the two cite their helplessness against Shens weapon and refuse. Po and the Five are discovered by the wolf boss and give chase, only to be arrested in front of Shens tower.\r

Upon being brought before Shen in his tower, Po and the Five free themselves and destroy Shens weapon. However, Po is again distred by a flashback upon seeing the same symbol as before on Shens plumage, allowing Shen to escape and destroy the tower with an arsenal of cannons. After Po and the Five escape, Tigress confronts Po over his distrion, who reluctantly explains that he remembers Shens presence on the night he was separated from his parents, and wants answers about his past from Shen. Though empathetic, Tigress tells Po to stay behind for his own safety. Despite this, Po breaks into the fory to question Shen, inadvertently foiling the Fives plan to destroy the fory. Shen claims that Pos parents abandoned him, and then blasts Po out of the fory into a river with a cannon, where he is presumed dead.\r

Po survives and is rescued by the same soothsayer, who takes him to the ruins of the nearby village where Po was born. Guided by the soothsayer to embrace his past, Po remembers that when he was an infant, his parents had sacrificed themselves to save him from Shens army, his mother hiding him in a radish crate and luring Shens forces away from him. Po attains inner peace, realizing that he has lived a happy and fulfilling life despite this early tragedy.\r

Po returns to Gongmen City to save the captive Five and prevent Shens conquest of China. A battle ensues between Shens armada, sailing in the heart of Gongmen City, and Po and the Five, joined by Shifu, who has persuaded Ox and Croc to help. Po modifies the movements used during his inner peace training to redirect Shens firework shells against his own armada, destroying it. Po then urges Shen to let go of his own past, but Shen attacks Po until Shen slashes the ropes holding up his last cannon, which falls and crushes him. Victorious, Po returns to the Valley of Peace and reunites with Mr. Ping, lovingly declaring the goose to be his father.\r
