High-speed train inaugurated by Spain PM arrives late due to technical issues

Castellon, Jan 22 (EFE).- A high-speed train that was on its inaugural journey from Madrid to the eastern city of Castellon with the Spanish Prime Minister on board on Monday arrived almost half an hour late due to technical issues.
After a brief stop in Valencia, the AVE carrying Mariano Rajoy and several Spanish and regional politicians was forced to grind to a halt to allow a much slower local train through.
The local train had been diverted due to faults in the track switch system, according to sources from the public works ministry, whose chief, Iñigo de la Serna, was also on board the AVE.
The ministry assured that the wait had occurred under special circumstances and that starting from Tuesday, nothing of the sort would happen.

He has so much fun learning how to eat with chopsticks that he even tries to eat dessert with them! Caillou and Mom meet a fascinating woman in the park. Caillou is quick to approach the woman because she has a friendly dog. He notices it isnt on a leash but in a special harness instead. After several questions she explains she is blind and her dog helps he do many things.\r

Its hot and steamy and Mom wont let Caillou go to the public pool since theyve been every day this week! When Caillou refuses to put on some sunscreen and Rosie wont nap, Mom quickly realizes that the hot weather is making everyone grumpy. She and Caillou come up with the perfect solution: they connect the lawn sprinkler for some good time backyard fun - which certainly doesnt need a lot of sophisticated equipment. Caillou, Dad and Rosie are in the car on their way to meet mom. Caillou and Rosie are in the back seat arguing and Dad is losing patience with them. When the car breaks down they have to pull over. Caillou comforts Rosie who becomes afraid when smoke comes out of the engine. Caillou is overjoyed when the tow truck finally arrives and he gets to ride in it to the garage. When Dad and Caillou find a scruffy dog that appears to be lost they bring it home. The whole family pitches in and tries to find the owner by posting signs around the neighborhood. But when the owner arrives, Caillou doesnt want to let the dog go. Caillou and his family pay a visit to Santa and go Christmas tree shopping all in the same day. By the time they get to the tree vendor after a long wait for Santa, all the trees are gone. Caillou was looking forward to trimming the tree so together they decide to decorate a tree in their own back yard!\r

Compared to the longer version, I have removed some repeated scenes and eliminated the future outlook section in favor of brevity. The video provides shorter overview of my M&M dispenser project, which was made to compete with other candy dispensers around our office (M&M, mint, and jellybeans). My goal was to make a dispenser that was somewhat more entertaining than reaching into a jar, but also reduces the large M&M flux caused by greedy handfuls.

The dispenser maze requires the prospect candy-eater to tilt the maze table and guide the M&M through the sequence to the Win Bucket. There are a number of open wall segments on the maze, beyond which lie the fail ramps that roll the M&M down to the fail bucket. While the M&Ms are still accessible in the fail bucket, candy-eaters must face public scorn and shunning from colleagues if they eat from there.

The maze is made up mostly of thin plywood glued together. The actual M&M dispenser is commercially available, with the only necessary modification being the servo-actuated arm.

Control of the maze is provided by a hand-held controller, which uses 8-bit Nintendo POWER/RESET buttons for M&M dropping, and an analog Playstation joystick for table tilting. An ATTiny 861 microcontroller reads the analog position of the joystick and generates PWM commands to drive the pitch and roll tilt servos, which are connected to the table and provide roughly +/- 10 deg tilt angle.

The maze is similar to the board game "Labyrinth".

Asian Water Monitor (Various salvator) tracks food using tongue to find a wide range of prey. In this video, filmed on April 11, 2007, a demonstration of a monitor lizards ability to scent prey -- that is, to find prey by smelling the air with his tongue first, approximately 10 to feet (3 m) away, and then using eyes to locate the feeder chicks. Monitors have forked tongues, in video please note how they swing their heads side to side to follow/track, locate, dispatch, and consume food. Monitor lizards are fascinating animals.\r

Forked tongues are split into two tines at the tip. As seen in video, reptiles smell using the tip of their tongue, and a forked tongue allows them to sense from which direction a smell is coming. Following scent trails based on chemical cues is called tropotaxis. Its unclear whether forked-tongued reptiles can ually follow trails or if this is just a hypothesis.
