Existe un fenómeno denominado "efecto de destilación total" (global distillation effect, en ingles), por el que los componentes orgánicos volátiles, pasan a través de la atmósfera desde las regiones del globo más calientes para condensarse en las regiones superiores más frías, depositándose en la vegetación, suelos y superficies acuosas. Evidencias a nivel global señala la presencia de este tipo de compuestos en pingüinos de la Antártida (Risebrough et., al 1976) y en osos polares (Derocher, 2003) en el Ártico. De igual forma se ha detectado la presencia de COPs en zonas de montaña tan remotas como el Aconcagua en los Andes (Quiroz, 2008), los Himalayas (Yang, 2008), los Alpes (Finizio, 2006) y los Pirineos (Gallegos, 2007) en Europa

If your seagate hard disk not detected, first of all, power it on and listen to it with your ear right next to it. Does it spin?\r
\r
If not, then it would be for one of the 3 reasons. Seized motor, unparked heads, or dead PCB (printed circuit board). There are also things like dead preamp, but on most brands of drives it would not prevent the spin up process.\r
\r
I will begin with explaining what seized motor is. Seized motor on the hard drive is fairly common issue that you would find on Seagate hard drive generations 7200.8 7200.9 7200.10 7200.11 7200.12, as well as some hitachi/IBM 2.5” hard drives.\r
Seized motor would upon start up process with create a faint buzzing, and in some cases beeping sound. I would highly suggest that you seek professional help at this point. This is one of the most difficult tasks to perform on the hard drive, and without necessary equipment you will kill your hard drive in attempt to recover it.\r

However, these sounds are identical to the ones that the sound would make when heads are not parked properly. All modern hard drives offer touchless heads technology, meaning that the heads are never suppose to come in cont with the disk surface. In the past 3.5” hard drives used to park heads closer towards the center of the drive, and they would land right onto the platter surface that had air pockets to prevent sticking. That technology slowly started to get outdated and less reliable than touchless, so now hard drives park heads on the external parking ramp. Touchless technology offers more durability for the heads when the drive is off power. If it is dropped external parking ramp, that suspends heads in the air, is much better option than having heads sit on the ual disk surface. (this section is best to be read on our blog page here because I have pictures explaining the difference)\r

Unlike 2 issues above, dead PCB, will turn your drive completely silent. PCB failure would usually be caused by power surges, or plugging in a wrong external hard drive power supply. Dead PCB can be either replaced, or repaired on component level. Luckily, TVS Diodes would protect most hard drives PCBs for mishaps like this, so they need to be tested first. A transient-voltage-suppression (TVS) diode or thyrector is an electronic component used to protect electronics from voltage spikes induced on connected wires. Multimeter with continuity test option will quickly determine if you have a damaged diode or not. Ideally, if you detect the damaged diode it would need to be replaced with an identical one, but in our case since I just needed to recover the data from this external hard drive. After the failed diode was removed, clients drive began to spin and get detected by our imaging equipment.\r

Disruptores endocrinos: Efectos sobre los animales

El término «disruptores endocrinos» fue propuesto por primera vez en 1991.En la Declaración de Wingspread se identificaban diferentes áreas de preocupación. La primera era el aumento del número de nuevos productos químicos que no se valoraban de forma adecuada desde el punto de vista endocrinológico. Desde que en 1953 se descubrió que el pesticida DDT (diclorodifeniltricloroetano) tenía actividad estrogénica, otros compuestos fueron identificados como estrogenomiméticos, entre ellos ciertos PCB (bifenilos policlorados). A raíz de la restricción del uso de PCB y DDT en los años setenta, la mortalidad de los animales salvajes del ecosistema de los Grandes Lagos en los EE.UU. disminuyó notablemente, pero los animales supervivientes presentaban ahora alteraciones en los sistemas reproductivo, endocrino, neurológico e inmune.

Disruptores endocrinos: Peligros ocultos

Los disruptores endocrinos (DE) son sustancias químicas capaces de alterar el sistema hormonal y ocasionar diferentes daños sobre la salud.
Estamos expuestos a los DE en nuestros lugares de trabajo, pero también en nuestros hogares por la contaminación de alimentos con plaguicidas, la exposición a productos plásticos y a plastificantes, el uso de algunos detergentes y por la contaminación del medio ambiente.

Los efectos más preocupantes ocurren en hijas e hijos expuestos durante el embarazo y la lactancia, y afectan igualmente a la reproducción y la salud de otras especies animales.

Estos efectos aparecen a dosis muy bajas, en general muy por debajo de los límites de exposición legalmente establecidos.

Ejemplos de disruptores que pueden estar presentes en el trabajo: Plaguicidas y herbicidas, alquilfenoles, Bisfenol-A, dioxinas, disolventes (ej. percloroetileno), estireno, ftalatos, PBBs, PCBs, Tributilestaño (TBT)

Cancer y disruptores endocrinos: Estrogenos en el plastico

El término «disruptores endocrinos» fue propuesto por primera vez en una conferencia organizada por la Dra. Theo Colborn, del World Wildlife Fund, en Wingspread, Wisconsin, en el año 1991. El objetivo de esta conferencia fue analizar la evidencia disponible acerca del efecto de los contaminantes químicos ambientales sobre el sistema endocrino de animales salvajes. Los participantes de esta conferencia firmaron un documento denominado la Declaración de Wingspread. En este documento se identificaban diferentes áreas de preocupación. La primera era el aumento del número de nuevos productos químicos que no se valoraban de forma adecuada desde el punto de vista endocrinológico. Desde que en 19533 se descubrió que el pesticida DDT (diclorodifeniltricloroetano) tenía actividad estrogénica, otros compuestos fueron identificados como estrogenomiméticos, entre ellos ciertos PCB (bifenilos policlorados).

One question that asked several times to me is that whats to do, when phone drop in water, tea, coffee or something similar or these things are poured onto the phone. Is this damage yours phone? You will shock to know that, water is a main component used in fabrication of these phones and its tiny components and ICs. So why these phone, damages with water? And, how will you recovered damaged phones?\r

In this video I will show you how the water damages the component on the board. And why Samsung is more resistive to this damage. The ICs on Samsung phone are sealed. And there is less probability of entering water underneath the IC. The BGA ICs are more sensitive to water. You will shock to know that these IC are cleaned with water before packaging. So why water create problem here. The problem is created by water itself. During fabrication De ionised water is taken whose conductivity is very low. But the water that we use in our home has sufficient conductivity. And when it stuck under these ICs, the BGA connects are shorted. This will damage the IC or the component attached to these ICs. In worse condition the water underneath boils due to power voltage across the BGA balls. And that expansion torn the ICs pin-outs from the board. So only drying the board, completed the recovery process. You have to take out all of the water underneath the ICs. This cant be done, either by putting phone in Rice or Tea, or by compressed air. Now there is one catch here, dry the board in your hand this will limit the temperature. Because excessive heat boils the water underneath the IC and thus create a pressure underneath IC, this will, either break IC or torn the cont pads on PCB. So go slowly. \r

In final part of video I reassembled the phone. And put the battery. And put the cover back. Now we have questions for you. \r
