    Las caídas constituyen un fenómeno frecuente durante la vejez. Resulta difícil conocer con exactitud la incidencia de las mismas en nuestra población, dado que buena parte de ellas se silencian. Una tercera parte de las personas mayores de 65 años se caen una vez al año y, de estas, la mitad vuelve a caer. La incidencia anual de caídas, entre la población de 65-70 años, es del 25%, pasando al 47% después de los 75, y aumentando después de los 80. En las personas jóvenes se precisan poco recursos de atención para el control del equilibrio. Las investigaciones del equipo del Dr. Mulder en la Universidad de Groningen revelan que existen importantes necesidades de atención para el control postural, y que estas dependen de la tarea postural, la edad y el equilibrio en las capacidades del individuo. El control postural exige atención y la complejidad de las tareas secundarias pueden reducir el rendimiento de una tarea de postura, o de ambas, si se realizan al mismo tiempo.

    Yoga postures, called asanas, are yoga exercises that connect the body with the mind. Patanjali, considered the master of yoga, affirms that yoga postures must be maintained until the connection with the divine essence of human life is achieved. The most well-known asanas are those that have popularized the practice of Hatha Yoga.

    To practice yoga postures it is important to consider three factors:

    Relaxation
    The duration

  • Uno de cada cinco menores de ocho años sufre problemas de espalda

    Un informe del colegio de Fisioterapeutas arroja datos muy preocupantes sobre la salud de los más pequeños de la casa: uno de cada cinco menores de ocho años sufre problemas de espalda. El 20 por ciento de los niños de 8 años ya se queja de la espalda y la cifra se dispara hasta el 50 por ciento en los jóvenes de 13 a 15 años. Las mochilas muy cargadas, las malas posturas para dormir, y sobre todo, sentarse en clase de forma incorrecta son los culpables de estas cifras. Los especialistas advierten: sentarse demasiado lejos del respaldo, con los pies colgando o con la columna arqueada son malas posturas que traen consecuencias. El informe alerta, además, de que la mitad de los padres desconoce qué es la higiene postural,  es decir, las costumbres que hay que seguir para evitar problemas de espalda.

They are gentle exercises and stretches you can do everyday to improve your foot flexibility and strength as well as prevent injury and improve your posture, balance, and health overall. Maintaining healthy fit feet is crucial to your health! Take care of your feet, they do a lot for you. like allow you to stand and walk! haha :) If youre here just to improve the look of your feet for dance, thats fine too! Nicely pointed feet will lengthen your lines! :) I will say that having good arches for dance comes easier when you have the right genes for it, but that doesnt mean you cant improve the look of your own feet. My feet would not be nearly as good if I didnt work them out and stretch them every single day. Just dont forget about them :) I have worked hard to improve my feet and have always been keen on having higher arches for ballet. But please be careful, dont overwork them :)

    Arms Strength: push-ups with knees flexed and legs fully extended. Also push-ups in pyramid or pike posture.
    Abdomen strength: abdominals throwing legs back.
    Leg strength: squat, squat with jump and boats.
    Flexibility: Bend the neck forward and flex the hip.
    Methodology: rock back and forth on the back, placing the feet on the floor and hands on the floor, then do half a round back touching the floor with the feet behind the head.

  • Ejercicios de Abdomen para Practicar en Casa

    Ejercicios para fortalecer toda la zona abdominal y lumbar desde casa. Tan solo 17 minutos de ejercicio repartido en una sesión de varios ejercicios (6+3 de calentamiento).

    Ejercicios con cierta dificultad y buen control postural.

    Haz 2 series más para tener la sesión completa y conseguir un mejor trabajo de tus abdominales
    Empieza con un calentamiento suave de la columna vertebral para preparar la zona hacia un posterior esfuerzo superior:
    - Flexión- extensión de la columna desde la posición sentado. Tienes que controlar muy bien esta posición y empezar a apretar tus abdominales. Si te cuesta mantener la postura o realizar este ejercicio puedes sujetar tus pies sobre un soporte, o una persona que te sujete los pies.
    - Tablas en posición boca abajo, andar con las manos hacia delante y atrás. Puedes hacerlo apoyando los codos si ves que te cuesta, o simplemente mantenerte en estático (parado) en postura de tabla unos 20-30 segundos
    - De rodillas, inclínate a un lado y otro para terminar ese calentamiento de espalda.

    Ejercicios:
    1. Túmbate boca arriba apoyando bien la espalda en el suelo, apretando el abdomen fuerte, pero manteniendo la curvatura natural de tu espalda, no forzar demasiado contra el suelo ni dejar demasiado espacio entre el suelo y tu espalda. Eleva tu cabeza y despega la zona cervical del suelo y manteniendo esta posición cógete una rodilla y llévala al pecho, cambiando de pierna de forma alternativa.
    2. Misma posición, pero con brazos apoyados a los lados, realizar tijeras con las piernas.De forma controlada el movimiento y la respiración.
    3. En tabla lateral apoyando solo pies y codo elevar cadera arriba y bajar. Mantén la línea del cuerpo recta desde tu cabeza hasta tus pies. Si te cuesta, puedes apoyar las rodillas en vez los pies.
    4. Posición tumbado boca arriba con manos a la cabeza (sin forzar cervicales) alternar rodilla y codo contrarios, girando el cuerpo a ambos lados y controlando la respiración con cada movimiento.
    5. Ejercicio de mayor dificultad y mejor control. Túmbate estirad@ boca arriba y sube la parte superior del cuerpo, despega primero la zona cervical, seguido de la dorsal y por último lumbar, y baja en sentido contrario al de subida (apoya lumbar, dorsal y cervical). En las subidas y bajadas la espalda va curvada y cuando estés arriba estirada. Haz menos repeticiones!!!
    6. Mas sencillo, simplemente eleva parte superior del cuerpo con manos a la cabeza y con las piernas en flexión 90º y despegadas del suelo. Sube con tu abdomen soltando el aire.

    Si tienes problemas de espalda o crees que pudieras tener alguna patología, es recomendable que consultes antes a un médico para poder realizar los ejercicios, ya que pueden ser perjudiciales o empeorar el posible problema de espalda.

    Muscular strength:

    Muscle strength is one of the physical capacities, and represents the neuromuscular ability to overcome an external or internal resistance thanks to muscle contraction, either static (isometric) or dynamic (isotonic strength).
    Skeletal muscles perform two actions: contraction and relaxation. When the muscle is stimulated by a motor pulse, it contracts.
    Concentric: (from the Latin "concentrum", which has a common center). It refers to contractions in which the length of muscles shorten
    Eccentric or negative contraction: refers to the opposite of the process of concentric contraction, returning the muscles to the original point of the game.
    Isometric or static: refers to the type of contraction in which the muscle develops a tension without changing its length ("iso" equal, and "meter" = unit of measurement).
