The first freight train is hauled by twin WDG-4 Electromotive Diesel Locomotives with a Horse Power of 4500 HP each.Enjoy the notching sounds of the EMD hauling a long rake of Cement carrying wagons as it gracefully curves into the ghats which is restricted to 50 KM/H Speed for freight trains.\r

The second freight train is hauled by the ever green Twin WDG-3A ALCos with a horse power of 3100 HP each hauling a brown BCNA wagon.The chugging duos conquer the ghats with utmost grace.\r

Railways were first introduced to India in 1853 from Bombay to Thane. In 1951 the systems were nationalised as one unit, the Indian Railways, becoming one of the largest networks in the world. IR operates both long distance and suburban rail systems on a multi-gauge network of broad, metre and narrow gauges. It also owns locomotive and coach production facilities at several places in India and are assigned codes identifying their gauge, kind of power and type of operation. Its operations cover twenty eight states and seven union territories and also provides limited international services to Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan.\r

Mobile phone footage uploaded online shows two boys tussling on a station platform in Marrickville, New South Wales, Australia, on Tuesday afternoon.

Suddenly, onlookers gasped as one is hurled onto the rails.

Aware of the potentially fatal situation the boy has put the other in, he lends a helping hand to get him back on the platform – which is refused.

He climbs back onto the side safely.

ELECTRIFICACION FERROVIARIA

La electrificación ferroviaria, por sus evidentes ventajas frente a la tracción vapor, ocupó un lugar preferente dentro del Plan General de Modernización de los ferrocarriles españoles, llevado a cabo durante los años 40-50. En este vídeo se muestran las antiguas máquinas de vapor y la central del pueblo de Santa Fe en la que se quemaba carbón para la producción de energía. También aparecen las presas y embalses para la producción de energía eléctrica que alimenta la línea catenaria y las subestaciones convertidoras de energía. Finalmente se muestra un mapa de España con los tramos de vía electrificados y los trabajos de los operarios instalando la línea catenaria.
