Food speculation mainly takes place at commodity derivatives exchanges, which are especially large in the US but also growing in the EU. Even though these exchange can have a value for agriculture, they can also be dangerous. Especially through increasing participation of finanical speculators like banks and funds, food prices more and more become a financial asset and an object of profit maximization. This can cause price distortions and increases - and thus hunger for millions. More information can be found in the article The speculator's bread. Also many scientists, analysts and public institutions have come to the conclusion that speculation can negatively influcence commodity prices (see list).

What needs to be done

To prevent financial speculators from generating profits at the cost of the poot, we need strong regulation of commodity derivatives markets. This includes:
• Trade on transparent exchanges or clearing houses
• High margin requirements for Over-the-counter trade
• Reporting and public reports
• Price oversight and price limits
• Prevention of excessive speculation through position limits
• Trading prohibition for institutional funds, mutual funds and for proprietary trading
• Control of the speculation by multinational commodity companies
• Transaction tax on commodity derivatives trading

The political debate

In the G20, French president Sarkozy has made food speculation a top priority. The G20 will decide on measure till the Cannes summit in November 2011. In the EU, the revision of the markets in financial instruments directive (MiFID) does play a major role. In Juli 2011, WEED and 13 other organisations have written a letter to internal market commissioner Barnier, calling for measures against food speculation within the MiFID revision. Another important reform process is the new EU derivatives legislation. WEED and other had an email action on this at the European website Make Finance Work.

UFO or hoax Aerial video over South Korea stirs speculation

new video has surfaced that some claim shows a saucer-shaped UFO zooming past the window of a passenger airplane flying over Seoul, South Korea.

In the video, the unidentified passenger is filming the otherwise uneventful view from the plane's window. Suddenly he makes a startled sound as the white saucer-like image comes into view.

Later in the video, the purported UFO image is magnified. Ultimately, it looks more like an ivory colored bowler hat than a piece of futuristic flying technology. Is this just bad computer-generated imagery (CGI) and a cheap hoax from a prankster or a genuine unidentified object caught on film?

The same writer who speculates on the origin of this object also recently wrote about video taken from one of NASA's live video feeds. In that video, three objects in a triangle formation appear on screen about five minutes into the video. Someone from NASA chimes in to say the object is actually a piece of foil, aka space junk, and that its reflection is giving the appearance of three objects in a triangle formation.

Iran has accused the United States of making fake allegations in order to justify its own nuclear weapons.

An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, criticized comments made by US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. Clinton, has accused Iran of flouting the rules of the nuclear NON-proLiferation treaty with its uranium enrichment program. But Iran insists the US is trying to divert attention from its own nuclear arsenal.

Ramin Mehmanparast, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, "Further sanctions on Iran are closer to a physiological war rather than something efficient. They attempt to influence the public opinion negatively and play with words. Whether a new resolution will be passed or not, or fresh sanctions will be imposed or not, these speculations cannot affect Iran's determination and will."

The Financial Crisis of 2008 was an economic bubble that reached its limits and exploded. A bubble is simply where prices continue to rise beyond the true value. People buy, simply because they believe everybody else is going to buy. A bubble is based on speculation, expectation and ignorance. When these three elements collide it creates a crisis, which is often defined by irrational financial exuberance.\r

The causes of the economic crisis of 2008 are related to the Bush administrations attempt to finance the war in Iraq with, basically, inflation. The Federal Reserve cooperated by financing the Iraqi war, by essentially lending money to the American state. But printing new money out of thin air, ually devalues the national currency, this is called inflation. This cheap money went straight into the economy, particularly the residential housing market. As a consequence the demand for houses rose; and housing prices took off like a rocket in 2001. Thanks to inflation the prices further accelerated in 2004. More and more people took on mortgages based on cheap currency. The lenders then sold the mortgages as bundles to secondary investors, such as American banks. The American banks then sold their bundles to banks in other countries. This is how American debt spread around the world and became a real international financial crisis. European banks were selling and buying American mortgage as bundles. And all the while all of this was based on cheap money, with no value whatsoever behind it. \r

People expected housig prices to continue to rise, but the opposite happened. The steady decline began in 2005 and by 2007 the panic kicked in and house prices were crashing down. The collapse of the housing bubble dragged the secondary investors along with it. US debt had spread all around the world and the damage was truly on a global scale.

Chinese Stealth Fighter J-31 歼-31 鹘鹰 Air Show,(2014

The Shenyang J-31,(or "FC-31 fifth Generation Multi-Purpose Medium Fighter")[6] also known as the "Gyrfalcon" (鹘鹰), or "Falcon Hawk" by some military enthusiasts,[7][8] is a twin-engine, mid-size fifth-generation jet fighter currently under development by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation. The fighter has also been referred to as the "F-60" or "J-21 Snowy Owl" (雪鸮) in some media report

Development

A photo of a model labeled F-60 was posted on the Internet in September 2011.[10] In June 2012, photos and camera video clips started to emerge on internet about a heavily overwrapped possible F-60 prototype being road-transferred on a highway, earning the nickname "the zongzi plane" (粽子机) among Chinese netizens, though some suspect it of merely being a L-15 trainer aircraft.[11] Pictures of a possibly fully assembled aircraft parking on an airfield emerged on September 15–16, 2012. The F-60 is reported to be the export version, where the J-31 would be the domestic Chinese version of the same fighter Chinese aviation expert Xu Yongling has called the J-31 an export-oriented low-end latest generation warplane.

Flight testing

The prototype conducted a high-speed taxiing test and briefly became airborne. On 31 October 2012, prototype No. 31001 conducted the model's maiden flight., It was accompanied by two J-11 fighters in a ten-minute test flight with its landing gear lowered.

With the maiden test flight of the prototype No.31001 on October 31, 2012, China became the second nation after the 1991 Advanced Tactical Fighter fly off, to have two stealth fighter designs in field-testing at the same time,The aircraft has continued a limited test program, with footage emerging of further flights which took place in February 2013.

Public unveiling

A 1/4 scale model of the J-31 was shown at the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition 2012, hinting at a desire to offer the aircraft for export, as an alternative for those countries that cannot purchase the F-35.

The J-31 airframe was publicly unveiled on November 12, 2014 at Zhuhai Airshow.[22][23] In TV broadcast of the unveiling, AVIC chairman Lin Zuoming claimed that funding for the aircraft came entirely from the company, with no input from military

As typical in flight displays of fighter jets, afterburners were engaged throughout the maneuvers. Nevertheless, Western media claimed it to be evidence of aerodynamic inefficiencies, concluding that the aircraft "bleeds a lot of energy and the pilot had a hard time keeping the nose up." Flights were done when the jet was "clean," so results would be worse when fitted with a combat loadout. However, a large-scale model of the FC-31 on display did show some detail changes of configuration compared to the flying prototype.

At the 2015 Dubai Airshow, AVIC released more details regarding the aircraft's capabilities. The company revealed it is still looking for a partner in the aircraft project, and is actively marketing the aircraft to People's Liberation Army Air Force. AVIC's plan is to have a production model first flight by 2019.

Due to mixed reports from China, it is unknown as to whether the J-31 will be inducted as a naval fighter, or only intended for foreign customers. In one interview with China's state media, the J-31's chief designer Sun Cong expressed his hope that the aircraft would follow his J-15 onto China's aircraft carriers.However, officials from AVIC only said that the aircraft was intended for export as a competitor to the F-35

Pakistan is reportedly interest in acquiring 30 to 40 of these aircraft. While the J-31 has been touted as a rival to the American F-35 in the export market, it remains to be seen how successful this will be. With the exception of Pakistan, China does not share the same kind of strategic relationships that the U.S. does—countries that are both willing and can afford to purchase the aircraft

New scaled models displayed at the Zhuhai Airshow revealed several planned differences from the 31001 flying prototype. The differences include a stealthier cockpit, a next-generation helmet mounted sight, holographic cockpit displays, EOTS, aerodynamic revisions and more powerful engines.

J-31 incorporates certain stealth characters such as forward swept intake ramps with diverterless supersonic inlet (DSI) bumps and a two-piece canopy.

The J-31 is smaller than the Chengdu J-20. Stonehenge a massive monument found on the grassy plains of Salisbury England was built thousands upon thousands of years ago and to this day, no one knows why. And even more curious Stonehenge is not the only grouping of these bizarre circles of stones, not by a long shot. There are the Stone Ring of Brodgar which stand on the Orkney isles of Scotland. Another bigger model of stones arranged in a similar fashion can be found in Avebury England. Theres the Drombeg Stone Circle which can be found in County Cork Ireland some call this place the Druids Altar. There are circles of stone in Africa as well, there are approximately one thousand of these large bizarre groupings of standing stones in the region of central Senegal and Gambia. A Stonehenge style monolith was discovered in the deep sea off the coast of Sicily Italy and there are even remnants of another collection of standing stones which were recently unearthed at the bottom of Lake Michigan inside the United States. Could all of these Stonehenge like groupings of stones really be only a coincidence?
