Two suspects surrender to Thai authorities claiming to be tour guides

Bangkok, Aug 21 (EFE) .- Two suspects who are allegedly involved in Monday's attack which took the lives of 20 people in Bangkok, have voluntarily surrendered to police, claiming to be innocent and just tour guides.

They are the two young men who appear in the footage recorded by security cameras at the scene of the massacre, the centrally-located Erawan Hindu and Buddhist temple.

The Game met with the LAPD moments ago over Tuesday's street fight outside a Hollywood nightclub -- and law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the rapper will NOT be arrested.

Game voluntarily rolled down to the Hollywood Police Station this afternoon (video above) -- joking with us that his cat was stuck in a tree -- but the rapper was there for serious business.

We're told ... Game defended his position over the incident outside Colony nightclub -- that he hit no one -- and after interviewing witnesses and reviewing fight footage, cops bought Game's story.

LIVITY SONGS live @ Main Stage 2011

After the Reggae Contest Argentina y Uruguay great final took place the past week-end, the choice of the jury was for the engaging reggae lovers latino style of Livity Songs. Among other prizes, the band won the possibility to play at Rototom SUnsplash 2011. 11 bands and 5 DJs coming from all over Argentina and Uruguay performed on stage at Groove in Buenos Aires as finalists for the competition. All would have deserved to win and some very interesting and enthralling shows have been brought on. For the DJ section, the winner is Miss Bolivia.

These finals are the result of the impressive work that the Reggae Contest Argentina & Uruguay team have done during the past months, with the collaboration of more than 100 persons, who voluntarily made this project possible, in name of music, peace and unity.

One again, a couple of things I mentioned in the :\r
- The color on the dolls hair wont show up as vibrant as the dye is in the pot. To get the color more vibrant, you will have to dye the hair several times\r
- Only a very small amount will be needed each time you dye the hair.. One pot of ManicPanic will be enough to make an entire army of pink haired Barbie dolls\r

La cabrita - Juego tradicional Wayüu (2007)

"La cabrita" es una juego tradicional de la etnia Wayüu de la alta Guajira, Colombia. Entre diciembre 2006 y enero 2007, el Instituto Humboldt, el PNN Macuira y Fundación Tropenbos Colombia promovieron la reconstrucción de este juego por parte de la comunidad de Siapana, luego de más de 50 años de no haberse realizado. Los viejos afirmaban que muchos consiguieron su pareja gracias al juego y que parte de su cultura se había perdido con la desaparición del mismo.
Esta documentación visual se llevó a cabo mientras yo prestaba el servicio de guardaparques voluntaria del PNN Macuira. El montaje se inspira en mi experiencia personal y no representa ningún tipo de intereses académicos ni institucionales.Mayo 2007.

Traditional Wayuu game. Between December 2006 and January 2007, the Humboldt Institute, Tropenbos and PPN Macuira, promoted the reconstruction of this game by the Siapana community after over 50 years of not being realized. The old claimed that many got their life partner with the game and that part of their culture was lost with the disappearance of the game.
This visual documentation took place while I did my voluntary ranger service at Macuira PNN. The assembly is based on my personal experience and does not represent any kind of academic or institutional interest.

Russian, Chinese presidents agree on initiative to end Korean conflict

The Russian and Chinese foreign ministries released a statement in which they gave details on the plan, asking that North Korea voluntarily announce a moratorium on their nuclear and missile tests, the latest of which occurred earlier on Tuesday.

They also asked that the US and South Korea abandon their military maneuvers and expressed their rejection of the use of force, defending the importance of peaceful co-existence.

Moscow and Beijing expressed their profound concern over this latest test, which they said was an unacceptable act that went against United Nations Security Council resolutions.

They also insisted that the American anti-missile shield deployed in southeast Asia represented a huge blow to strategic security interests for countries in the region, including Russia and China.

The two countries said Pyongyang's concerns had to be respected and other countries had to make an effort to renew ties and jointly create an atmosphere of peace and mutual trust.

North Korea announced on Tuesday morning that it had launched its first intercontinental ballistic missile, which they claimed could reach the US, although Russia insisted that it was, in fact, medium-range and thus posed no threat to the North American country.

Dissabte passat, 21 de juliol, vam estar celebrant a Xeresa la desena edició de la nostra marxa noctucna, també vam poder celebrar la gran assistència que vam tenir, ja que de 264 inscrits en total, van participar en la marxa 236 persones, tot un record. És molt d'agrair el bon comportament i paciència de tots els assistents, tant grans com a xicotets. El club sempre organitza aquests esdeveniments amb l'ànim de donar a conèixer tot el nostre entorn, ja que coneixent-ho "in situ", entendrem que devem cuidar-ho i respectar-ho perquè les generacions esdevenidores puguen gaudir, si cap encara més, de la zona tan privilegiada en la qual habitem. Seguint en el capítol d'agraïments, destacar la gran labor dels nostres voluntaris i voluntàries, que dir que ja no sàpien, son el millor patrimoni del club, moltíssimes gràcies. Agrair com sempre la incondicional col·laboració de l'Ajuntament de Xeresa ja que sense ells tot açò seria molt més complicat de dur a terme,moltes gràcies. Sabem que hi ha moltes coses que millorar, aquest és el nostre afany. En el 2019 el Club compleix 10 anys caminant per muntanyes i camins, segur que serà un any amb moltes sorpreses i activitats variades. Us esperem en la pròxima Temporada 2018-2019, a partir de setembre comencem una nova aventura i tu pots formar part d'ella per només 25€ de quota anual,us esperem. Feliç estiu!! Salut i Muntanya!!

SOPA Cabana Stop Online Piracy Act

The bill would authorize the U.S. Department of Justice to seek court orders against websites outside U.S. jurisdiction accused of infringing on copyrights, or of enabling or facilitating copyright infringement. After delivering a court order, the U.S. Attorney-General could require US-directed Internet service providers, ad networks, and payment processors to suspend doing business with sites found to infringe on federal criminal intellectual property laws. The Attorney-General could also bar search engines from displaying links to the sites.

The bill also establishes a two-step process for intellectual property rights holders to seek relief if they have been harmed by a site dedicated to infringement. The rights holder must first notify, in writing, related payment facilitators and ad networks of the identity of the website, who, in turn, must then forward that notification and suspend services to that identified website, unless that site provides a counter notification explaining how it is not in violation. The rights holder can then sue for limited injunction relief against the site operator, if such a counter notification is provided, or if the payment or advertising services fail to suspend service in the absence of a counter notification.

The bill provides immunity from liability to the ad and payment networks that comply with this Act or that take voluntary action to cut ties to such sites. Any copyright holder who knowingly misrepresents that a website is dedicated to infringement would be liable for damages. The second section increases the penalties for streaming video and for selling counterfeit drugs, military materials or consumer goods. The bill would make unauthorized streaming of copyrighted content a felony.

#16 - Crocodile Skin\r
The tribes that live in New Guinea undergo a process called crocodile scarification when a boy becomes a man. The majority of the boys body is cut in order to create patterns that resemble the skin of a crocodile. The process is very painful and can take months for the body to fully heal. \r

#15 - The Red People\r
The members of the Himba tribe are known for covering their skin with a thick red cream made from local herbs and crushed rock. The cream is seen as attrive to other members of the tribe and it also keeps their skin safe from the blazing African sun. Himba women take a bath only once in their life, just before getting married. On bath night, they wash their hair with ash and must keep the same hairstyle for the remainder of their lives.\r

Eskimos hold an interesting tradition when it comes to taking care of their elderly. To prevent the older members of the community from being burdens on their families, they are sent off to die alone on a floating iceberg when they become a certain age. In the Hamer tribe of Ethiopia young boys prove their manhood by jumping onto the back of a bull, then jumping from the back of that bull to another bull and seeing how many he can jump across. They usually conduct this ritual in the nude. \r

If a couple wants to get married in the Banyankole tribe, the man must first sleep with the aunt of his soon-to-be bride. Another part of the tradition is that the aunt must then check to make sure her niece is a virgin. Only after both tests are passed will she give her blessing and the couple can get married. \r

Everyone in the Mauritania tribe believes that the bigger the woman, the more beautiful she is. Parents even send their daughters to “fat camps” where they are fed an average of 15,000 calories each day. Being larger in size makes you more desirable as a wife. \r

The women of the Dani tribe choose to grieve in a very peculiar way. When a family member dies, the women in the family voluntarily cut off a segment of one of their fingers. They numb it by tying the section off with a string for about half an hour, and after the cut is made, they seal the wound with fire. \r

#8 - The Most Painful Bite in the World\r
As an initiation ritual, the Satere-Mawe tribe boys gather bullet ants from the jungle nearby. After being drugged with herbs from the Medicine Man, the bullet ants, which are said to have the most painful sting in the world, are sewn into a pair of woven gloves. After the drugs wear off, the ants become angry and aggressive. In order to become men, the boys must wear these gloves in ten-minute intervals until they have endured the pain 20 different times. \r

The burial traditions of the Yanomami tribe are more than strange. When a person of this tribe dies, the body is cremated, and the ashes are mixed into a soup that is drunk by the surviving members of their family. Shiite Muslims are very vocal when it comes to their traditions, and the event of Ashura is certainly seen as insane by most standards. The day is observed in commemoration of the death of the grandson of the prophet Muhammad, Imam Hussein. In the 7th century battle in which he was slain, Hussein and his men were repeatedly struck on the head with knives and daggers. Shiite men replicate the event by flagellating themselves with daggers to the head. \r

It is mainly the women of the Kayan tribes that you see with gold coils around their necks, even though sometimes they are worn by the men. There are different ideas and thoughts regarding the reason why they wear the coils, but the most common reason being a symbol of beauty. Many non-tribe members think that the gold coil stretches the neck were, in reality, it pushes down the clavicle and compresses the rib cage.
