    آندره بنجامین، ایفاگر نقش جیمی هندریکس در فیلم «همه چیز در کنار من است» (All Is By My Side) به همراه جان ریدلی، نویسنده و کارگردان این اثر، در نخستین نمایش عمومی این اثر در لس آنجلس شرکت کردند.

    «همه چیز در کنار من است» یک سال از زندگی جیمی هندریکس، گیتاریست و خوانند اسطوره ای راک آمریکا را روایت می کند. زمانی که این جوان سیاهپوست عاشق موسیقی هنوز مشهور نشده بود و به توصیه دوستانش برای پیشرفت حرفه ای، در سال ۱۹۶۶ به لندن رفت.

    آندره بنجامین، معروف به «آندره ۳۰۰۰» ، رپ خوان آمریکایی و ایفاگر نقش هندریکس درباره زندگی او در آن دوران می گوید: «هندریکس حتی نمی خواسته خواننده شود. تمایلی هم نداشته که سردسته گروه شود. حتی صدای خودش را هم دوست نداشت. آنچه ما در این فیلم می بینیم، چنین فردی است. انسانی که از جلد یک گیتاریست با استعداد بیرون می آید. افرادی که در کنارش هستند او را حمایت می کنند. به او می گویند باید بیشتر کار کنی و دست آخر، او هندریکسی می شود که همه می شناسیم و دوستش داریم.»

    این فیلم، زندگی شخصی و روابط پیچیده عشقی هندریکس را با دو زن در زمان اقامت در لندن روایت می کند.

    بزرگترین انتقاد به این فیلم، غیبت ترانه های هندریکس در آن است. کمپانی منتشر کننده آثار این خواننده، اجازه استفاده از ترانه های او را صادر نکرده است.

    آندره بنجامین در فضای موسیقی هیپ هاپ آمریکا رشد کرده و آشنایی چندانی با راک کلاسیک کشورش ندارد. او درباره نخستین آشنایی با موسیقی هندریکس، می گوید: «اولین خاطره من از هندریکس به فیلم “اینک آخر الزمان” بر می گردد. حدودا بیست ساله بودم. داشتم این فیلم را می دیدم. یک صحنه داشت که در آن هلی کوپترها بودند. فکر می کنم آهنگ ‘All Along the Watchtower’ روی این صحنه بود. این اولین تجربه من از هندریکس بود.»

    جان ریدلی، کارگردان این فیلم پیش تر برای نگارش فیلمنامه و کارگردانی فیلم ۱۲ سال یک برده، جایزه اسکار گرفته است.

    این فیلم روز جمعه به صورت محدود در چند سینمای آمریکا نمایش داده می شود.
