Celebrating 25 Years of Gran Turismo: A Message from Kazanouri Yamauchi

I’m very happy that we are celebrating our 25th anniversary since the first release of the Gran Turismo series.

Back in 1992, Gran Turismo was the first project plan I created out of close to 100 others I came up with when I first started my career in this industry, so it means a lot to me.

While making video games was something I started from 10 years old as a hobby, I had never thought about making it a career.

I started a movie production club when I was 14, and had been producing movies, so I first joined Sony hoping to create image products. But the department they assigned me to was not what I was expecting.

It was a department where the PlayStation console was just about to start, and was a place where Kutaragi-san was working feverishly to bring the concept of PlayStation to life.
That place was not what I had hoped for, but looking back now, you could say that I was very lucky.

I was fascinated by real time 3D graphics that many had been waiting for, and created and presented plans for all kinds of video games, not just limited to race games but RPGs, adventure games, action games, puzzle games, and more.

As a result, Gran Turismo took a more fantasy race game format in the “Motor Toon Grand Prix”, becoming one of the first 1st party titles for PlayStation, but if a plan for something other than a racing game had been the one that was approved, there is a good chance that I might have been making a title other than Gran Turismo today.

Thereafter the Gran Turismo project started from gathering a team of two part time artists and three engineers.

From there, the number of comrades have continued to increase in number for over quarter of a century, and has become Polyphony Digital today, a company with over 200 staff members.
I don’t think there are many video game franchises in the world that have continued for 25 years with the same title, and with the same team.

The founding members of the company are still working on the front lines, and I am thankful and proud that all 200 of our staff are a team that have the same motivation and love that the company started with in the beginning.

In the last 25 years, the cumulative sales total of the series have reached over 90 million copies as of November 16, 2022.
And this result is something that could not be accomplished by ourselves alone.

Behind that 90 million figure, there are all the people of the media who conveyed the allure of Gran Turismo to their readers. There are the people of PlayStation who sold GT for us around the world with passion, and there is the incredible amount of support from the retailers who interfaced with our users.

My heartfelt thanks goes out to all of them for their support.

And above all else, I can’t ever thank enough the GT users and people of the GT community who have played our new titles, which at times could be said to have been very experimental.

Following in the footsteps of Prologue Films and The Mill, PostPanic have created this year’s prestigious opening titles 'Year Zero' for OFFF Festival 2011 in Barcelona offf.ws/bcn2011/

Written by Mischa Rozema and British graphic designer, Si Scott, the opening titles reflect their dark thoughts on a possible future. Directed by Mischa and shot on location in Prague, the film guides the viewer through a grim scenario embedded with the names of artists appearing at this year’s OFFF festival. The live action was brought back to Amsterdam for post, primarily carried out by PostPanic’s in-house team of artists but also with the additional help of freelancers and partner companies that we have enjoyed strong creative relationships with over the years. It’s really fair to say that this was a labour of love by a passionate crew of people.

Jozef Kugler is from Budapest, Hungary. When younger he started by learning classical guitar, drums and violin. Like many youngsters he learnt for a while then began to discover going out with friends and listening to music rather than playing and creating it. But whilst going out he discovered electronic music and so his life was changed. He began making music again after rediscovered his love playing and creating music. For years he has been honing his sound and perfecting his production skills, which brings us to his Desire EP on Seamless Deep.

The two track EP consists of Desire and Walking on Line. When listening to Desire, it has a slight feel of Finnebassen to it. Sexy vocal clips, guitars, and warm electronic bassline along with crisp beats. His previous musical knowledge has served him well to create a great arrangement and flow for this track.

The second track on the EP is Walking On Line. With solid beats this has a nice beach vibe feel to it with its guitar licks and smooth floating chords in the background. Combined with a nice bouncy bassline this is a great track to listen to taking in the sunshine and enjoying drinks at sunset.

The second track on the EP is Walking On Line. With solid beats this has a nice beach vibe feel to it with its guitar licks and smooth floating chords in the background. Combined with a nice bouncy bassline this is a great track to listen to taking in the sunshine and enjoying drinks at sunset.

Adventure Time | Flute Spell | Finn meets Huntress Wizard

Jake is on the search to find who Finn's new girlfriend is Huntress Wizard! Deep in the forest at night, Jake comes across melodic flute playing coming from above the canopy. Upon stretching to the top, Jake witnesses Finn playing his Flute for Huntress Wizard. The two stand across from each other while Finn continues his music, but after a little bit, Huntress Wizard tells him that "it" isn't working out and abruptly leaves. Afterwards, Jake sneaks up behind Finn and surprises him, saying congrats for finding a new girlfriend and to apologize for apparently getting dumped. Finn tells him that he wasn't trying to ask HW out, he was just playing his "flute spell" for her. When he's asked about what a flute spell is and why he was playing it, Finn explains that Huntress Wizard found him while he was hanging out in his new alone spot: a river deep in the wild. In the river, Finn is naked and playing impressive "improv" on the flute. Huntress Wizard watches him from afar, and eventually approaches him demanding to know how he can play the flute like that. Finn, initially shocked at someone seeing him in the current state, tells her that he just lets his grass arm (the synthetic arm created by the Grass Sword when it regrew in Breezy) do whatever whenever he plays. She tells him that he is what she has been looking for. Back in the Present, Finn says that ever since the encounter the two of them have been going around the forest while Finn plays his flute spell in an attempt to summon the Forest Spirit. Jake teases Finn by saying he only wanted to play to flute to impress the Huntress, and continues to push the belief onto Finn as they descend from the canopy.

Chris Brown Fan Returns $22,000 Rolex At MTV Awards

Chris Brown thought his $22,000 diamond encrusted Rolex was LOST FOREVER when he accidentally tossed it into the crowd at the MTV VMAs ... but lucky for him, he thought wrong.

TMZ has learned ... Brown's watch -- a gold Rolex with a white oyster face and diamond-encrusted bezel -- came loose at the beginning of his performance ... so he took it off and tried to toss it to a safe place ... all while dancing his face off.

But Brown missed his target and the watch ended up in the crowd.

After the performance, Brown's bodyguard went into the audience and asked if anyone had found the watch -- not really expecting anyone to come forward ... but to his surprise, the watch was in the possession of an HONEST person, who returned it to its rightful owner.

A rep for Brown tells TMZ, "Although Chris did not get to meet the fan, he is very appreciative of the fan's actions."

Still, we gotta ask ...

ONG BAK 3 (2010) - Official Thai Trailer HD - Tony Jaa (WideScreen)

With the box office success of Ong Bak 2, Sahamongkol Film was quick to announce their intention to film this sequel. Filming of new footage for the follow-up will begin before the end of the year and will also incorporate unused footage from Ong Bak 2. The studio hoped to have the film in theaters in December 2009, but the new release date will be in May 2010.

Sia Jieang, an Executive of Sahamongkol, stated the film will feature more fights between Dan Chupong and Tony Jaa. Moreover, in Ong Bak 3 Tien's legs and arms will be damaged by torture and require Jaa's character to "fight with some sort of boneless action. This is homework for Panna Rittikrai and Tony Jaa to create the action for us to see what it will look like to fight in the state of boneless condition." Kongdej Jaturanrasamee, screenwriter of the Thai fantasy film Queens of Langkasuka, has been signed to write the script. In addition, the expensive set for the Khmer Palace has already been completed and seen by the press.

The Ong-Bak 2 DVD has never-before-seen footage of Ong Bak 3.

Blender - Voodoo Composition test (no sound)

I create this scene about 1 oe 2 years ago for learn about voodoo and camera traking and how integrate the data of the camera and the objects into the scene.

The camera traking can be improved and the lighting etc. .. but for a first contact I think I got an acceptable result .. (without the problem with a fence at the end of the video :) )

I abandon this project due to time and later to know the existence of the development of the tomato branch so I decided to wait for the camera traking was available in the official version of blender.
Currently traking camera is already built into blender ... but I'd rather wait to do this kind of scenes when the development of render layers in cycles render is a little more developed.
